Bar Gernika is a Boise staple and a must visit for anyone in town. The food always delicious. I highly recommend the lamb grinder and croquettes. The bread is perfect for a sandwich and the best fries in town. Seating is limited inside and there’s no reservations so be prepared to wait or sit at the bar for smaller groups. There’s plenty of great drinks to choose from and the service is always excellent. The location downtown and in the heart of the Basque District is perfect.

Cozy, fun place with great food and good drinks. I had the chorizo (get the croquettes as the side!) and the dry cider. Very tasty and the staff were efficient and friendly.

Fantastic price of old Boise Basque culture. Early spring night. Mellow vibes. Cold beer and delicious appetizers. Croquettes and fried peppers. All delicious. Special shout out to the Hard Cider – dry, earthy, not sweet, really fabulous. 10/10, will be here again.

Not much into trying new food but we had company and wanted something different. The block was ramping up for the festival. I stuck with the fries which were great and everyone else tried the lamb, croquettes and the tiger sauce and they loved it. Employees were great and did try some of their basque beverages that were good. One was pretty much cheap red wine mixed with Pepsi, it was so refreshing and good. Husband calls me a cheap date lol.

Low key, cozy pub in downtown. Simple yet impressive menu with several tasty options. The albacore tuna melt was super good! Croquettas were perfectly cooked, golden and crispy outside and warm and creamy inside. The tortilla with chorizo and manchego was very tasty as well. Lots of beer and wine selections and a few cocktail choices as well. Will definitely be back!

Awesome little spot to stop in to try some Basque food and some great craft beers as well. The. Soup of the day was sweet potato bisque and it was great creamy and delicious. I also got an order the croquetas and they are amazing anyone who comes here needs to try them so good. The chorizo sandwich was also very good great bread with a tasty sausage. I also had to try the kalimotxo drink which is half red wine half come it was interesting not my thing but not bad either.

Fantastic place! Found this little gem on Diners, Drive-ins & Dives site = so happy! Delicious Basque food – had spicy lamb grinder with homemade croquetas + a fairly local IPA. Attentive prompt service + jam packed by 6pm by locals in the know.

It’s Boise’s old world pub with great food and beer. It’s small but its warm colors from the exposed brick and the feel from the plaster & timber walls give it it’s charm like your in a English/European pub.
