I order the lamb stew and croquetas, which came with bread and a pickle. For my taste, I think the lamb needed a bit more if flavor but in overall it was ok.

This is a mistake I keep doing cuz I like to try different food, but I have a very sensitive stomach and this meal was very heavy for me. So if somebody has a stomach problem, don’t copy me and order something lighter

Came here on suggestion from another bar, lamb stew and a original basque cider, the staff here is really great and friendly. Definitely a place to come and eat and enjoy some good drinks. A lot of good stuff on tap but the food menu is something that you got to try. Also not too expensive, you don’t get service like this in many places. Great staff

12/10. Way more than just a dive. Intimate and cozy, Bar Gernika is the perfect place to get your feet wet with Basque fare. Fluffy croquettas, juicy Lamb Grinders, and perfectly sweet rice pudding, this place is really hard to beat. If you’re from out of town, this place is reminiscent of some of the hole in the wall immigrant owned bistros in New York. Cannot recommend enough.

Lovely Basque cuisine. The croquettas and pork sandwich were delicious and they had a fun selection of beer. The patio made for fun people watching.

I read online that this place was highly recommended. For me personally it wasn’t my favorite. The spicy lamb wasn’t that spicy or spicy at all and the croqutes are a unique bite. It’s just not for me however it’s great people great atmosphere for the people who enjoy that bar environment. Nice little place.

Unfortunately, we had a very bad experience here today. We had a large group of 11 people which understandably can be a bit overwhelming at times and we try to take that into account when finding a restaurant. We were very excited to try this restaurant as we have heard good things and spend a lot of time at the other basque restaurants.
When we first walked in we were relieved to see that the restaurant was almost empty! It went down hill from there though. We were immediately treated poorly. The server was outwardly rude and obviously annoyed that we were there. We sensed this and tried to offer to help move tables together to try and take some of the burden off and we were met with harsh words. We were honestly taken back, since most of us have worked in The service industry we try to be good customers. It was so bad that we decided to walk out. The cook followed us out and apologized but the outright rudeness from the servers made us feel completely unwelcome. Luckily the restaurant across the street was happy to serve us and we had a wonderful meal.

My wife and I stopped in for lunch this past weekend. We were in town for vacation. Wow! Were we blown away with how good our food was. We had the chicken grinder and the chicken was moist, tender and had just enough of a kick to make it flavorful. We also had the Monkless beer which was very tasty. Our waitress Renee was very attentive and friendly. We will definitely return next time we are in town!

i love it here. the servers always make me feel nice and are a little odd in exactly the way I would want. they keep it comfy-cozy and warm inside. the food is pretty darn good and i could not be more impressed with what they do with their tiny cook space. how i forgot to order pudding i do not know. next time, Bar Gernika.

Cozy place that fills up quickly! Had the spicy lamb grinder. Not too spicy, but filled with meat, sautéed peppers and jalapeños. Croquetas were delicious! Service was quick and friendly
