Elegant Tuscan escape at Eataly Downtown—Bar Firenze nails aperitivo vibes! Food was outstanding: focaccia rossa with tomato was warm, pillowy perfection (could eat it all day), handmade pasta like ravioli spinach was rich and fresh, and a prime rib rigatoni had deep, savory flavor. Cocktails Florentine-inspired and spot-on.
Service was attentive and congenial—great recs. Atmosphere is top-tier: sophisticated yet cozy with beautiful city views, warm lighting, and that refined Italian energy—perfect for unwinding post-work or a special drink.
Loved the upscale yet welcoming feel—highly recommend!

We visited [Restaurant Name] on a friend’s recommendation and were impressed by the concept of combining a restaurant and market, with three options on the same floor. Everything looked fresh and high-quality.

On both visits, we were served by Javier, who was exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, thanks to the company’s training.

During our first visit, we tried the seafood pasta, which was delicious but had minimal seafood for the price. The tagliatelle alla bolognese was just “OK”—good pasta but not enough sauce and a bit oily.

On our second visit, we ordered pizzas, which were tasty, but at $27 each plus tax, the prices felt a bit steep. Overall, a great dining experience with room for improvement on portion sizes and pricing.

Staff at the bar was specially friendly and welcoming inspite of the endless crowds trying to get a table during lunch time. The lasagna bolognese was impeccable and serving enough for one. At the bar we could overlook the memorial through the window. Desert was absolutely delicious.

Wonderful downtown authentic Italian! Great fresh ingredients, perfect execution. The food was both exciting and comforting. Went for a family lunch, and it would also be great for romantic dinner or business entertaining. The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The atmosphere is fine dining with fantastic views, separate for the hustle and bustle of the main Eataly market.

La Pizza & La Pasta was full so we took a table at Firenze Ristorante Toscano & Bar. They share the same menu so it was not a big deal. But you have to wait in the same line to be seated…

Actually Firenze was a more refined space, quieter and not as bright. La Pizza was bright white! and so loud! :/ Now that I’m thinking back on it, it was like being in a bright white kitchen…

Had lunch with my coworkers since we hardly see each other face to face 😀

Italian Cola, Molecola – This was good, it didn’t taste super sweet even though the small bottle had 35mg of sugar. It was similar to Maine Roots Mexican Cola.

Focaccia Rossa – Amazing! We all loved it, the touch of tomato. So good, I could just eat this bread all day long!

Rigatoni Alla Carbonara – I do love a good carbonara and this was just phenomenal! My only comment, and this is a personal thing, it was too al dente, now I know people will argue with me about it but like I said, it’s a personal thing. 😀 The sauce was creamy, and the Guanciale OMG! WOW this is what Carbonara really should be.

Panna Cotta – this was delicious! The panna cotta was cream and not overly sweet. The crumble was just the perfect amount that I was able to get a bit of crunch with every bite.

What a different restaurant! The design, service, food… combination of pasta, seafood and poultry cuisine! Service was delightful! Service was outstanding, the view of the Hudson River and the area is wonderful! Their lounge area before going to your table is comfortable and welcomed!

The place is fun and has goid vibes. The food is bland and the drinks are watered down. Id only come back for the chicken wings and if there was a game playing. Not good for if you come hungry.

Great location with view of downtown Manhattan, elegant yet not overly pricey food, friendly staff. Go pick up some stuff after meal at the market place just outside of the dining room. Great for small gatherings!

Beautiful restaurant, great views of the city below. Lovely decor and wine selection. Appetizers and appetizer specials were great. Mussels were Devine. Gnocchi was very good. I wish I got the simple tomato spaghetti instead of the lobster cognac risotto, the presentation of the risotto could’ve been better, could’ve also used some fresh herbs on top or some colorful sauce, it looked like gray slush. It was a bit too al dente. Peroni was yummy, the service was very good. The bread that came on the side was warm and yummy.

I’m kind of torn writing this review because many things had the potential to be good, but the few things that went wrong really put me off so I split the difference at 3 stars.

I came here for an afternoon lunch in a party of four. I’ve been to Eataly in the past and enjoyed my experience. What changed was trying to visit an Italian restaurant on a diet with specific restrictions.

The first issue was my order – a salad – arrived almost 10 minutes after the rest of my groups hot pasta dishes.

I couldn’t snack on the complimentary bread since I’m eating gluten and dairy free.

I dove into the salad starved, only to discover it contained walnuts – which I specifically asked to be removed when placing the order. (The waiter admitted his mistake. )

To make matters worse, the “poached tuna” was absolutely disgusting. I had googled it prior to ordering, and I was expecting something different. I thought it was fresh tuna, poached to warm it up a bit. I got slimy and extremely salty pieces of fish. Not Osterias fault but it led to me decide not to try to eat the rest of the meal after a few bites.

Management decided to treat my table to deserts. A tirimisu topped with chocolate and some ice cream. I’m dairy free and allergic to chocolate. Not to mention I’m on a f*ing diet which is why I ordered salad in the first place.

In the end they removed my salad from the bill, which is good since it was wrong and I didn’t eat a meal. My personal experience was 1 star as I left hungrier than I arrived.

But … My party had three wonderful pasta dishes, yummy cocktails, and complimentary fresh bread, and deserts (courtesy of my order mix up). They even took special care to check for my fathers food allergy and when it got too sunny they lowered the shades. Which for them would’ve been a 5-star experience (had I not been hangry at the table.

So yea.
