I ordered four dozen chicken tamales they were good, but not something I’d order again. A few had small bones, and the peppercorns weren’t fully crushed, which affected the texture a bit. The red salsa also had quite a few seeds. I’m still leaving four stars because the overall flavor was good, and I’m likely to return to try other items on the menu. Waiting area is not that big it’s more like a four people space and employees were kind and quick!

I found this place online and I go to Tyler quite frequently for my cancer treatments when I get out of my cancer treatments we’re always wanting somewhere to go to eat. We stop by this little place. It is amazing. They have the best grilled chicken ever. It is so amazing they have all kinds of food. They have tamales. They have rice beans it’s amazing. They also have desserts lots of different different kinds of drinks. You can order totally worth it to stop and check it out. The family is super sweet. I mean they’re above and beyond nice. You should definitely go check it out if you like Mexican food or chicken it’s so good. Very reasonably priced. And you get large portions as well. They don’t skimp at all five out of five. Highly recommended!! Thank y’all for all y’all y’all are amazing. Keep up the great work.

Absolutely terrible food!! We used to eat here a few years ago and it was pretty good at a reasonable price. It is now bland, dry and wayyyyyy over priced! $3 for a small corn tortilla chicken taco. The beans have cheap hotdogs in them and rice is also flavorless. Such a huge disappointment and spent wayyyyyy too much money!!

It’s good to be home and great to find an amazing place for barbacoa street tacos and on weekends papusas and tamales. The salsas are incredible and they had some churro cheesecakes that I am sad I did not order. I will be back here many times.

Chicken is the best very authentic, you can get whole chicken or half chicken. A whole chicken can feed up to 4 adults since we are 6 in my family I get a whole and a half chicken Rice and Beans are good as well and the whole grilled onion is awesome the price is reasonable for the quality of the food.

As a native of California, tacos are my jam, and it’s been a mission looking for good tacos in a Tex-Mex world.

First, the price is cheap compared to other fancier places that may or may not drown the tacos in queso or chili. Portion sizes for the beans and rice based on the price are really good. Taco size is exactly what you get for street tacos without the second tortilla.

Second, the taste was really good given the cheap price. The chicken was a bit on the salty side, but that also could have been due to the cheese. The barbacoa had good taste, but unfortunately, my second taco was loaded with fat, so I was left with a higher tortilla than meat ratio for my last taco. The corn tortilla fell apart on my third taco but held up for the rest.

Rice was very good, and so were the pinto beans. The sliced up hot dog reminded me of my younger days when my grandma would make beans at home for us and also added in sliced hot dogs.

Both green and red salsa have good flavor, but be warned if you get both, they charge you extra since I’m assuming you only get one with an order. It’s only .25 extra, though.

Will definitely be back to try the steak tacos and even some of the other items.

Bussing tacos and tamales. Went back a second time for the papayas and tamales. Tamales are a 10/10. Always wish I had an Abuela to make me some. Papusas were pretty decent as well

This place is one of the best taco places in town and has incredible bbq for cheap. Theres a covered unheated building for sitting and eating but most people just get take out. They cut their own wood for the bbq out back and you can smell the flavor down the street. Will be back for sure

Food is delicious but it’s very pricey. Always the best customer service. Make sure you have everything before you leave because the last 2 times they have forgotten my rice. That was my biggest complaint.

Tiny little barbecue shack on the side of the road. I have been driving by this place for a while now and I’ve never seen it open. Because of my work schedule I can never get around to trying this place when they’re open.

Imagine my surprise when I drove by today and they were open. Even though the hours date on Facebook and on Google say they’re closed on Wednesdays. The Gods must have been shining down on me today because I busted a u-turn so fast to grab me some barbecue.

The menu is simple. They have grilled chicken that you can either buy whole, half or quartered. They serve rice and beans and homemade tortillas. They also have tacos, chicken, fajita, beef fajita or barbacoa. On the weekends they have a couple of other special items such as pupusas and tamales.

Let me just explain about these tacos. We ordered six barbacoa tacos and they were phenomenal. They were so delicious that my husband and I were fighting over who was going to get the last one. Haha!!

We also ordered chilaquiles which comes with either white or dark meat chicken. Since I don’t eat chicken I just asked them to leave it off my plate. They did leave the chicken off and in return they gave me a lot more beans, rice and chilaquiles. Talk about great customer service. I wasn’t expecting anything extra. I just did not want the chicken.

Location is kind of crazy. If you drive too fast, you’re definitely going to miss this little Shack. Driving south on Glenwood just passed Front Street underneath the train tracks on the right hand side is where you’re going to find this little tiny barbecue shack. Definitely look out for it and if you can’t find it, you’ll definitely smell it. Follow that smell, I guarantee you you’ll fall in love with the food!!!!!
