Somehow we let Barbecue Hut get out of our rotation. That won’t happen again. Fried pork chops with fried ocra and tater salad.

This is one of the best places around to get authentic Eastern Carolina barbecue. The food is great, service is good, and the prices are very reasonable.

I don’t live here I am here temporarily. I am staying with my cousin who does live here. So I ask him how is bbq hut he said it’s just okay. I looked online and you guys got a good review. So I thought about trying it myself and it’s better than okay it’s great. One of the best I had in a long time. I highly recommended this place oh by the way I spent 40 years in the restaurant business so I know what I am talking about. I would be back on Tuesday for the bbq chicken.congratulations I had the ribs special with baked beans.

Southern hospitality and BBQ at it’s best. Everything was delicious and the BBQ was a little more on the sour side (North Carolina thing I suppose) The fried chicken was mint, potato salad, cold slaw and fried okra had a homemade taste. Really sucks I didn’t get to try the desserts. They didn’t have time to make it and I was leaving the next day. Fried pork chops were yummy and huge. All the good food was very affordable.

Worth every penny. Definitely a must try. Everyone there was sweet and accommodating.

The ambiance was very warm and country inside but the surrounding area is very iffy. Some tattooed up kid who looked like he was high was riding a bike staring as if he wanted to try something in the parking lot. I don’t know this neighborhood personally but coming from NYC, we’re very wary about our environments. This kid was definitely up to no good.

Me and the kids came through town during a day of traveling and it was recommended to us by a fella at the gas station. They famous for some Carolina BBQ pulled pork sandwiches. We got 4 of them to go and they was pretty cheap too. Only $12/sandwich for something a lot better than stopping at a McDonald’s.

The food was quite good but you gotta have a taste for that Carolina twang. Of the 4 sandwiches there was probably 4 hard bits of the meat but I can’t complain too much. I give the food a 4/5 stars but the staff left a little to be desired on the southern hospitality aspect

Every time I ask for fresh cooked okra, they all look at each other as if I asked for something strange. Those okra sitting up be soggy. I prefer fresh if possible. I guess they could care Lees if you go some place else.

This was the worst BBQ I’VE EVER TASTED ALMOST LIKE THEY DIPPED IT IN THE DISH WATER SO SOGGY AND THE FRIED CHICKEN WAS CREMATED DEFINITELY NOT EASTERN NC BBQ 30 DOLLARS FOR 2 COMBINATION PLATES I’M NOT MUCH FOR COMPLAINING OR TRYING TO GET A FREEBIE BUT IT WAS HORRIBLE AND THE NOT SO FRIENDLY STAFF. I WILL NEVER GO BACK EVEN MY MOM HATED IT AND SHE LOVES BBQ DO BETTER.

The worker was ok when I pulled up. The fried chicken was really good in my opinion. But the sides were sooo not good. I couldn’t finish the potato salad. The baked beans tasted like pork and beans instead, like they were poured directly from the can and warmed up. There were no additional seasonings, no brown sugar or molasses undertone. Strawberry shortcake is sliced see-through thin. Little hard hush puppies are overcooked. I’d revisit for the chicken alone.
