Restaurant week and we thought we’d check out their lunch special today. We were not disappointed in the least. We had the salad which I forgot to grab a pic of. The butternut squash soup was perfect. My other half had the pork shank with Parmesan risotto while I had the chicken & ham panini. Dessert was the chocolate tiramisu and the pumpkin mousse. Couldn’t finish our entrees, so leftovers followed us home. Stop by, you won’t be disappointed!

I have to say that the bartender I had last week Megan is AMAZING!! I was there to see Mushmouth and it was beyond packed you couldn’t move in there! Megan was one of the most attentive, calm sweet bartenders I’ve ever had! She would always ask if we needed anything else and If my water was half empty I’d turn around and it was full, she knew many of her customers names and what they drink! She deserves to be recognised! I can’t say enough great things about her and how positive she made our experience there, despite it being insanely crowded Megan killed it all night❤️

As someone who was born and raised in Belmar I Hadn’t been back in years. Went for lunch on a hot day. It was warmer inside at the bar than outside. People come to enjoy lunch, a drink and to beat the heat. Don’t be cheap turn the air on. That being said the bartender and waitress were friendly. They have good blue plate lunch specials and pretty good food. The place is totally different at night and on weekends. But during the week at lunch time it’s worth a try if you’re not into large crowds.

gets very crowded on Wednesday nights with line dancing with little to no room.
went there on a Saturday night in June. the parking lot was blocked off so everyone had to park on the street or the lot by the train tracks. came in that Saturday night wearing my track pants but was not allowed in even though everyone else were dressed down or dressed casual.

food & drinks are very good & reasonably priced. waitresses & bartenders are very nice & friendly.

Terrible place. Security is on their high horses. I will definitely be getting my lawyer involved over what happened the night I was there, and I truly hope their manager contacts me

I was near the exit door catching up with an old friend when someone shoved into me. I took a few steps back and said, “Dude, you don’t need to shove me.” After that, he grabbed me by my leather jacket and proceeded to shove me out the door, causing me to land into the metal rail outside in front of two police officers.
The place kicked me out, stating that I was the person in the wrong. Even though multiple people explained what actually happened, they still decided that I needed to leave. I remained very calm the entire time.
It seems like a power trip to me, and I feel that the two officers and two guards involved did not do their jobs correctly.

This place is a Belmar party destination. They have live music frequently, DJs, theme nights, and major holiday parties. Been coming here for decades because of its popularity and there are some great folks working here. However, the food is just okay. If you want some bar food, or reasonably priced snacks, go for it. If you want a restaurant quality meal, there are several better options in Belmar. Also the decor looks to be at least 50 years old inside. They’ve spent some money to expand the outdoor areas so there’s plenty of space in the summer. During the off season when everyone is indoors, it can be quite crowded and not fun.

Initially, I searched online for a place that served lobster roll and this place came up, but upon arriving there and browsing the menu, lobster roll was not listed, so perhaps it’s only a special on occasion. This place was recommended from our AirBnb host, and the other menu options looked great, so we stayed and had lunch anyway. I enjoyed my Bar A’s Brisket Sandwich, which on the menu mentioned came with horseradish sauce and au jus. However, when it came to the table, it did not come with those described condiments, so I had to ask our server for both, and received them quickly with no hassle.
We arrived around 11am and it seems this place has it’s regulars. The one positioned directly by the entrance was very quick to offer the four women who walked in some cocktails on his tab. We politely declined the drink and we resumed the rest of our visit without any issues from the other guests. If you like that kind of familiar atmosphere, then I would say they seem open and friendly to anyone who is a visiting patron.
My friend ordered the sliders and said they were the best she’s had in her life.
Prices were definitely reasonable.

I went to bar A on New Years, and waited in line for an eternity. They then shut doors early when advertised they’d close at 4am. I’m sure the owner will certainly say otherwise. But me and multiple other stood there just dumbfounded. I wasted 1 hour in 28 degree wind. To find out I needed to spend $50 on a Lyft to get home, instead of going into the bar till 4am.

Good food great outdoor event. Just needs to be a bit more handicapped accessible. And the handicapped parking spots should be closer to the building not in the 2nd lot or on the other side of the 1st lot.
