The servers were very knowledgeable and helpful as we were trying to decide on what to get. It was a little too much, since we were all 100% Korean and probably knew more about the menu than they did lol. But they were very friendly and very nice. Appreciated it.

This was my second time here. We ordered Bibimbap, pork katsu, and ox tail soup for the table and everything was delicious. We were in a rush so didn’t barbeque but it looked interesting. The sides are delicious, as always, but we had to ask for more.

We had a lot of fun here! Having never been to a Korean BBQ before, we weren’t sure how it worked. Overall, it was a blast to cook our meats and veggies ourselves and their flavors were great! There was a decent amount of sides but we had to ask for more. Super unique and a bit more exciting than the typical restaurant. There’s definitely a technique to it and I think we’ll be better at it on our next approach.

Had a fantastic meal, and excellent service by our waitress, despite her being shorthanded and running all the tables. She was still able to give some of my friends an introduction on Korean BBQ, so absolutely impressed, and hope I get her again at my next visit!

How do I even explain the experiences I have had here… I have come to eat at BAPS many times, and can confidently say I have tried almost every item on the menu. I eat here often! Everything is FANTASTIC! Soups, entrees, appetizers, hotpot’s and BBQ are so tasteful, and fill you up with great portions! I recommend this restaurant to everyone! The atmosphere is amazing, and the staff is very helpful when explaining how Korean food is traditionally prepared and eaten. I highly recommend the Soft Tofu Stew with Pork, Kyochon chicken and the Dolsot bibimbap with beef!! Also trying the Korean bbq is a must!!

Absolutely delicious! Kind service and greetings. Very generous portions and sides, if I visit Michigan again definitely would stop again.

I visited BAPS Home Style Korean BBQ Cuisine for the first time last week and I was very impressed by the quality and variety of the food. The restaurant is located in a convenient spot near the MSU campus and has a cozy and modern interior. The service was friendly and attentive, and the portions were generous.

Starting my year at MSU as a Korean student, I was so excited to learn that there is a Korean restaurant close to campus. The restaurant looks very nice, but what matters is how the food tastes… and it is not very good. I thought I didn’t care too much about the service, but the server was not very attentive. OK, fine… But when I tasted the food, that was the last straw. Honestly I miss the Korean food when I lived in LA. Of course maybe I expected too much, but even I can cook better Korean food than BAPS.

I really enjoyed the food and the experience of table grilling. I felt the service left a lot to be desired. We let our server know that we hadn’t done Korean barbecue before and we could use an explanation. Her response amounted to suggesting that since there were two of us we should order two entrees. A while later someone unceremoniously dumped a load of food and utensils without explanation. It wasn’t that complicated, and we figured it out, but I would have preferred just a little bit more handholding.

Let me tell you a story about the owner of this establishment. Back in the day during the height of the pandemic, this Korean man was the last man standing, he took orders, cooked, and then packaged all by himself. The wait was a little bit long but the food was good and I am happy to see he has a full staff working and business is doing well.
