I tried Bao Box at the Taste of the PNW and it was alright. A little pricey for the quantity and quality. They aren’t as good as Din Tai Fung but they aren’t too bad. The dumplings were okay. The wontons were good and flavorful. The noodles were bland; i wouldn’t get them again.

Was really excited about having a dumpling spot nearby. I know it’s a soft opening and is understaffed by overwhelmed workers with the new concept. But I waited almost 25-30 min to order and wait when I ordered 2 menu items. I wouldn’t be writing this if I didn’t get an item that was completely raw, I ordered wontons that were not even partially cooked, for $43 after tip. The staff members were pleasant and friendly, but I feel they were left in the wind a little bit with this opening when there should be some kind of management or leadership present for a soft opening. Photo is completely uncooked wontons I was sent with.

I was really excited to try this place. We waited about twenty minutes for our take-out. Got home in less than 10 mins and it was all cold.
The primary issue however is the unacceptably small portions. With tip we paid 60$ for this meal. I could easily eat this by myself. Would not recommend.

The staff is really friendly and doing great.
But the food here is truly horrible. Like I had to throw it away. Not just not special but especially gross. The bubble tea is great! Highly recommend. But the dumplings and especially the noodles were borderline vile.

So excited to see this offer dumpling spot- love me some Dim Sum. It was approximately 20 mins until the order was ready. Interestingly enough, the dumplings we waited for were mushy- way overcooked. The sauce was amazing and just the right amount of zip. I hope this new business refines their cooking time so I can continue to enjoy this local dumpling.

The photos used on delivery apps are *not* what you get, either stock images or AI generated and quite misleading. Prices for the amount of food you get are more what I’d expect to pay in Seattle for good quality, not Covington, and this food is not high quality sorry to say. Tastes like frozen stuff you’d get from Costco.
Staff are friendly and trying their best, but they seem really overworked and overwhelmed. If they had more help with better management they’d be able to put out a better product. It seems like a newer place so maybe in the future things will be ironed out, but definitely avoid for now, far better offerings in Covington.
If you do decide to try it, make sure to order ahead because the wait time, due to overworked staff, is like 20 minutes

Excited to have some local dumplings. Ordered online for pickup around 6pm on a Friday during posted business hours. Showed up 10 minutes after estimated delivery, with no text confirmation yet. “OPEN” sign was on, but lights off & door locked. Potential customers were showing up, but left after trying the locked door. Canceled order after about an hour. So disappointed! Hope they get it together.

Right away, they apologized for the wait and told us it may take about 30 minutes for the dim sum. We were also told by the gentleman we will get a text message when orders are ready so we can always come back. Was also advised to pre-order through the website or doordash for quick pick ups. Great idea for next time.
The food was okay. The sichuan noodles were pretty good. I wish we tried the waffles because the whole store smelled good because of it. It also only took about less than 30 minutes when we received a text.
It was for sure chaotic watching the employees work the kitchen and try to ring people at the same time. It’s a brand new business so hopefully the kinks will get taken care of. Will try again!

These were the worst dumplings I’ve ever had. I ordered delivery and everything was cold and under cooked. I’m not a picky eater and found the food inedible. The Dan Dan noodles were flavorless…. Everything was just awful. I think the Szechuan wonton has crab or some kind of seafood which wasn’t part of the description. I don’t eat any seafood

The cost to food ratio is way off. For 9 bucks, you get 6 small dumplings with nothing else. I saw my meal, ate it in 10 seconds (not an exaggeration), and then left to go get food elsewhere.
The staff is nice and the place looks alright, but the servings are so low compared to the cost, with no rice or anything to speak of, it felt absurd.
