We went on a weekend, my son was dressed up for a card show – decked out in Pokemon. The staff complimented him immediately, they were so kind and friendly. They gave us plenty of time to look over the menu to place our order. The Bao Bei Bowl and Tofu bites were absolutely delicious, the meat melted in your mouth and was complimented by the pickled vegetables and rice so beautifully. The tofu was crispy and had great seasoning, we got the items to go and they traveled well and stayed in peak condition before we were able to eat. The food was made in a timely manner, we were able to look at the details around the restaurant briefly before it was ready to go and it is so fun and unique! My son wanted to stay to eat he was so impressed. We will definitely be back to try more on the menu!

Best Taiwanese food I have had in the DMV hands down. Food was fresh, spice and flavor was all on point, just all around so good.

I tried the Bao Bei Bowl, spicy dumplings, and popcorn chicken. All were REALLY yummy. I was especially impressed with the quality of the dumpling wrapper and filling.

I also tried their mango sago and wood ear mushrooms back before they opened the store front and would highly recommend both.

Service was great and very clean interior. So happy this place exists would totally drive an hour to come back and eat this again

Honestly, this place was really great. From the gen Z interior playing pokemon music, to the legit Taiwanese street food. Their xl fried chicken was as good as Hot Star in Shilin night market in taipei. I wish the cutlet was a little thicker so you can have more juicy chicken but the fry and seasoning were very on point. Their pork belly bun was also fantastic and filling. This place is perfect for a quick bite for lunch or if you’re in the area and just want a snack (not Kevin). Would definitely come back.

As a Taiwanese, I’m so happy I found this place! The food is very authentic; it truly reminds me of home. The fried chicken is amazing: super juicy on the inside and perfectly crispy on the outside, just like the night market bites I grew up with.

The veggie bun tasted fresh and homemade definitely not frozen. The Bowl is delicious too — flavorful without being overly salty, which I really appreciate!

I will definitely be coming back again.

Food is incredible. I’ve had the pork chop bowl, scallion rolls, golden vegetables, veggie bao, and the new chicken bowl. All were great, one of my new favorite places. Tea eggs are worth getting extra.

Atmosphere is fast casual with limited seating. I have not experienced a problem but if it’s super busy could see that as a small issue perhaps. Still worth it.

Finally got a chance to visit Bao Bei. Enjoyed the food very much. We had Bao Bei Bao (刮包), tofu bites and pork chop bowl. Bao Bei Bao was amazing, the best we’ve had in the DMV area. Pork chop bowl was flavorful and perfectly portioned. Tofu bites were crispy and sprinkled with Chinese’s Five Seasonings powder (五香粉). We also ordered the Mango Sago. Great mango flavor with tapioca pearls provided texture to a tropical drink. Definitely will be back to try other items on the menu.

The best Taiwanese food in the east coast!!!! The baos are fluffy and made excellently as well filled with amazing flavors. Their Taiwanese XL chicken is a must try! The bowls are paired well with the sides they have. The building is beautiful on the inside and out, well organized, perfectly decorated and spotless! Plenty of parking and a lot of seating as well. Great spot for a meetup or even a date!

I saw this restaurant on instagram and want to give it a try. I like their Bao bei bowl it’s very flavorful and their crispy veggies is worth to get. The scallion bread is too dry for my taste. The interior is pretty simple however it’s too COLD especially under this weather.

The bun was good, very soft and made in house. The meat was juicy and tender on the baos but I feel like lacked flavor. You also get one bao per order so I thought the price was a little steep for what it is. Maybe increase a little and offer two per order? The XL Taiwanese Fried Chicken was hot and juicy and the spice flavor was there but just bland. Needed a salt factor. As for the rice dishes I thought they were just okay. I’ve had better in the area.

The buns are amazing. Peanut sugar + cilantro is so on point, wish they gave more peanut sugar though. The scallion and seasame bread were also delicious. This is quite authentic Taiwanese flavor, the pork is supposed to include 30% or so fat, it could be a hit or miss for people who’s not super adventurous with different flavors. We have been a huge fan since they were at the ghost kitchen location, so glad they expanded to a B&M spot now. Hope the quality upholds. $8.99 per piece is very expensive.
