A great delicious brunch! Food here was super good. I had the chicken sandwich which was amazing. Loved the sesame bun, sauce, chicken was cooked perfectly. The avacado toast was also super good! Would 100% recommend both.
It definitely gets busy for weekend brunch so I recommend making a reservation before 11a (which is when they accept Resy)
The service for us was a bit iffy. Coffee drinks took a long time to come out. We only had two interactions with our waiter (asking what we wanted and bringing out the bill). Though I guess it was adequate.
Overall, would definitely recommend those in the area to stop by!

The name Banter is very fitting — it’s clearly a social spot where people like to talk. However, it’s a bit annoying when tables stay occupied for long periods with little food while there’s a line of customers waiting. Service was a bit slow. I asked two different servers for hot sauce, and it didn’t arrive until I was almost finished with my meal

The food here always looks and tastes delicious and the wait is never long even if the line seems to be out the door. A perfect place for brunch.

A good option for happy hours if you’re in Murray Hill/ midtown. $6 drafts and cocktails for $8-$12.. their espresso martini is pretty good.. the pineapple upside down cocktail was meh – watered down, didn’t really taste the ingredients much.. their shishito peppers were outstanding! There was a miso lemon glaze on them that made the peppers an unami bomb! This aside, their lemon curd pavlova and nutella chocolate bars were brilliant!

It was early on a cold Saturday morning, so the place was somewhat empty (only two other guests), but I liked the decor and the atmosphere. I imagine it would be quite a nice brunch spot.

The avocado toast was ok. It was a bit too simple, and it was on sourdough bread, which in my opinion is not the right fit for avocado toasts. Anyway I think it’s only a 3 ⭐. Though I can see myself visiting again to try a different dish.

Had a crispy chicken sandwich, didn’t know what to expect but it was the perfect crunch and taste! So much better than the fast food ones. Sweet potato fries were also yummy! It was my first time here and I didn’t know what to choose but I went out of my comfort zone with this choice. I also ordered the lemonade and it was ok, I wish it had a better balance between tart and sweetness.

Cute cafe right next to Trader Joe’s! Good coffee and food. Still pretty empty since it just opened but looking forward to returning. Fried chicken sandwich was very yummy. Chicken pesto panini sandwich was also very delicious.

For weekends, would recommend making a reservation or coming early. Lines can be around 40 mins long

Dinner- got the Wednesday dinner deal for $22 -chicken parm and a pint of any draft beer. Delicious. Comes with a salad (kale and broccoli) and fries. Can be very loud. There was a table of 8 kids sitting next to us and the restaurant is small.

I thought the food was good. Service was ok. Atmosphere looks fine. But I gave it 4 stars because it is loud and I could barely hear the person I came with sitting across from me. Maybe I came at a crowded time. Some of the food or drink items are creative or trendy healthy which is cool. Not sure exactly what makes this place australian besides the vegemite and the word brekkie

I have been a regular customer at your restaurant and often come here for lunch. While I really enjoy the food, I find it extremely frustrating and rude that the waitstaff remove my plate before I even finish eating—sometimes within just 20 minutes of sitting down! Even when I am still slowly eating my fries, they take my food away without asking, and then immediately bring the check without me requesting it. This has happened to me multiple times (3-4 times), and I felt the need to bring it to your attention.

Please allow your customers to enjoy their meals at their own pace and be more considerate. No one should feel like they are being rushed out. Some customers may want to relax, have coffee or dessert, or simply take their time before receiving the check. I hope this issue is addressed, as it seriously affects the dining experience.

Thank you.

Brunch here was really nice. Place fills up quickly on weekends so come early (like 12). Mushroom toast was good but the bread was a bit stale and the poached egg came hard boiled which spoiled the dish a little bit. The bowls my friends had were amazing, as were the sausage rolls and the coffees. Would come again, they have a big and varied menu and a super nice ambiance!
