I recently had the most incredible culinary journey at Bansuri Indian Street Food, and it was an absolute delight! This place truly lives up to its reputation as an authentic Mumbai street food haven. From the moment I stepped in, the vibrant aromas and lively atmosphere transported me straight to the bustling streets of Mumbai.

The menu is a dream for anyone craving genuine Indian street flavors. I tried the Vada Pav, and it was perfectly authentic with its soft, fluffy pav buns and the most aromatic garlic chutney – just like I remember from Mumbai! The Pani Puri and Sev Puri were also incredibly fresh, bursting with unique and spicy flavors that hit all the right notes. Every dish I sampled, from the Samosas to the Pav Bhaji, showcased true Mumbai-style flavors, steering clear of the typical sweetish undertones found in some other regional cuisines.

The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall fantastic experience. Their passion for authentic street food shines through in every interaction. It’s also a huge plus that the entire menu is vegetarian, offering a wide array of delicious options. With plenty of free parking available, visiting Bansuri is convenient and hassle-free. If you’re looking for an authentic taste of Mumbai’s street food culture, Bansuri Indian Street Food is an absolute must-visit. I can’t wait to go back and explore more of their delicious offerings!

Ate here when they were serving out of a food truck and again recently in their cafe and was glad to see the quality has remained the same. We absolutely loved the dabeli and bhelpuri! The pav bhaji and pani puri were really good too! The pav buns are so soft and fluffy. The garlic chutney on the vada pav was so authentic!
The wait time is about 15-20 minutes after you’ve placed the order. Would definetly recommend this place for authentic street style food.

I was looking for some Desi street food on Uber Eats. This restaurant has no Uber Eats review and yet I decided to give it a try (my fault)
I paid $8.99 for the portion that was a side portion for the main dish. Trust me peas and potatoes are not that expensive. I ordered ragda pattice. Ragda was tasteless and patties were the side of flattened donut holes.
on top there was a drizzle of sweet chutney and sprinkle of sev. What a mockery!
I would’ve paid couple bucks more and gotten a whole platter of chicken over rice and a full size appetizer from a restaurant.
I got on google to read the reviews and oh my my! Only if the portion size were as large as the owner’s response to some of these negative reviews. Not to forget it tasted like eating boiled peas with salt and turmeric. Lesson learned. I shall not be ordering from this place and I will NOT recommend this place.

Still the same service but not in a mobile truck anymore. Can’t believe it’s been 4 years since they set up shop here & we haven’t been back at least for that long. Good outdoor seating.

Spice levels are still the same.
If you want to enjoy it, choose mild.
You want to struggle with your tongue on fire, choose medium.
You want to lose your head, order spicy.

So this place is an authentic bumbaiyya (Slang for Mumbai) street food place. Everything from Vada Pav to Samosas to Pav Bhaji!! Everything here has local Mumbai style flavors. Sorry, not to offend any local cuisine but this place is not typical Gujarati style/flavors (sweetish) fast food joint. I repeat, it has authentic Mumbai style flavors. You will definitely enjoy this place but just keep in mind, the operational hours are limited so plan accordingly!! The staff is really friendly too.

Food is not that good. Even green Chilli or one Chutney, charge extra. I said can you add more onion and not butter, he was like it’s custom order, $1 extra. And again, green chutney is with color and only water. 🙁 Very bad attitude of owner. Surprised to see how this business runs. Don’t recommend this place.

Update 01/09: I am updating this after owner put reply on my review. I’m not a dump person who doesn’t know sales tax. lol This sales tax part is what he made as story to reply. I came here second time. That’s it. First time I didn’t write since I thought they are senior citizens let me ignore their behavior. She is good some what. He is very bad guy. Owner attitude is one of the worst ever you could imagine. Please don’t go here if you respect yourself. The quality is one of the worst in Houston. Again, if you self respect yourself this is not the place to go and eat. Highly unprofessional and not recommended at all.

PS: He tried to reach me out over phone and asked to remove google review. I am NOT going to remove it. Thanks

Perfect place to try indian spicy style vadapav. Has limited hours in the evening only. No dine in due to covid-19. Clean and neat place. Good place for larger groups to sit outside and eat

You can always count on the delicious flavors of the snacks here! Bansuri in Houston is the go-to spot for spicy Indian chaats. This time, I tried the Misal Pav and Kala Khata – both were incredibly unique and flavorful. Just a heads-up, though: if you’re not into extra spicy, proceed with caution!

Had the masala vada pav and sev puri. Vada pav was genuinely better than some places in Hillcroft. Sev puri was also good..they have a good outdoor area… Only a hot glass of chai is missing in the menu
