If you’re heading to Banque in Hudson, make sure your credit limit is as high as the bakers were when they set the pricing. At $12 for a single croissant, these pastries aren’t just food; they’re a financial commitment. But to be fair, they are absolutely massive—roughly the size of a small Victorian footstool—so at least you’re getting some serious caloric real estate for your investment.

The Highlight: Yuzu & Berries Danish
The absolute star of the show. For those who crave a bright, citrusy punch, this danish delivers a sharp yuzu tartness that perfectly balances the sweetness of the berries. The real winner, however, is the structural integrity—the flaky, layered texture is a testament to high-level lamination.

The Crowd-Pleaser: Double-Baked Pistachio & Raspberry
Forget the overly sweet, neon-green Italian creams you might be used to. Banque offers a fusion pistachio filling that feels sophisticated and earthy. When paired with the tartness of raspberry and the crunch of a double-baked croissant, it creates a “pleasant” complexity that lingers.

The Surprise: Tiramisu Croissant
Most “tiramisu” pastries are just coffee-flavored whipped cream, but Banque goes the extra mile. The discovery of coffee-soaked ladyfingers tucked at the very bottom of the croissant was a brilliant textural surprise, grounding the airy pastry with a rich, authentic dessert feel.

The Classic: Pear Danish
A softer, elegant option that rounded out the selection, showcasing the bakery’s ability to handle delicate fruit flavors without letting the juice compromise the pastry’s crispness.

The Verdict: Is $12 for a croissant borderline highway robbery? Absolutely. But given the gigantic portions and the fact that they’ve managed to turn a tiramisu into a structural masterpiece, you’ll probably find yourself handing over your card like a willing victim of Hudson’s gentrification.

Had a wonderful dinner at Banque a week ago (Friday night). Took me too long to get to this review, but now i still remember how wonderful our meal was. The space is airy and beautiful, we met Tom and Diane – they were both so generous with both food and their time. We even met the chef. And, our server was lovely! I had an incredible tiger shrimp entree and my SO had a pasta dish he loved. Oh yes – we also had a well -priced Sardinian red, to tie it all together. No room for dessert, but I’ve had their croissants and can tell you they are divine! Go to Banque!!!

Dining at Banque is nothing short of a remarkable experience – truly a destination in its own right. From the moment we arrived, the warmth and kindness of the staff set the tone for an evening of genuine hospitality. The space itself is stunning: refined, beautifully designed, and filled with an understated elegance that makes you feel both special and completely at ease.
The dining experience was a celebration of craft and artistry. Each course arrived as though it were a piece of art – visually striking, immaculately presented, and, most importantly, absolutely delicious. The flavors were layered and thoughtful, with generous portions that never compromised on quality or finesse. Chef James is exceptional; not only does his talent shine through in every dish, but his graciousness was evident when he came to our table to speak with us personally. His passion and attention to detail elevate Banque into a category of its own.
The finale was extraordinary: house-made sorbets and chocolates that were as elegant as they were indulgent, alongside desserts that left a lasting impression. Every bite reflected true craftsmanship and dedication to excellence.
In all, Banque offers a dining experience that is sophisticated yet welcoming – the perfect balance of elegance, comfort, and culinary brilliance. It is a place to return to again and again, and one I would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone who appreciates food as both an art and an act of hospitality.

This cafe is so pristine and elevated you wonder if it’ll ever break even or if it needs to. It feels like a French bakery + bistro and cavernous. The croissants are the best I’ve had in recent memory. We also got most of the sandwich / burger options and everything was extremely tasty. Loved the salmon burger. I think the baked goods, gelato, and espresso drinks are absolutely tops and wish there was a spot this nice in Williamsburg. Our friends who live here come 3x a week.

We stopped by for brunch on a memorial Day weekend when their main staff were off duties. The service was a bit struggling with wrong orders and slow service but the owners were so nice, quickly corrected all orders and the food was amazing! All Pastries we ordered were superb, fresh made and so delicious. Food were very good. We will definitely be back again if in the area! Thank you for the complimentary sweet treats for our kids.

Amazing place with a great atmosphere, looks super fancy ! The pastries are literally flawless and taste amazing. I had a toffee croissant thing and a “chocolate chip cookie “ which was more of a delicious mini cake. If you like pastries definitely make a stop here.

This place is really beautiful, but you’re definitely paying for their renovations in the $12 pastries and $7 cappuccinos. The decaf espresso was awful, but the dirty chai with regular espresso was delicious. I had a pear custard pastry. The flavors were lovely. The croissant dough was a little bit bruddier than I prefer but still delicious. My husband had a coconut French flan cake and it was yummy very coconutty

What a wonderful experience. We had a couple items from the brunch menu (only remembered to take a photo of the egg sandwich ‍♀️) and a couple specials. Then grabbed some pastries on the way out. Everything was fantastic, including the service. Thoughtfully plated dishes, lovely presentation, great service….this place is definitely in our restaurant rotation going forward!

Banque is one of those places that delights from the very first bite. Its croissants, chocolates, and ice creams are outstanding: delicate, well-balanced, and full of flavor. Each piece reflects skill, attention to detail, and a clear passion for well-crafted pastries.

The dining offerings complement this perfectly, with well-executed dishes, quality ingredients, and careful presentation. All of this makes the experience enjoyable and relaxed, whether for a quiet breakfast, a brunch, or a leisurely meal.

Without a doubt, it’s a place I will return to and gladly recommend, both for what they offer and for the warm atmosphere it conveys. It’s a true jewel in Hudson that’s worth discovering.
