I am the traveler. I spent three nights in Oelwein. First night in looking for dinner and drink found the Bank. Had to find out the little town of Westgate, IA could actually have a 4.9 rated bar. Every review was right on. Very clean, food amazing, owner very friendly, and the locals great bunch of people. Thursday was your choice of 20oz bone in ribeye $30.00 or 15 oz boneless ribeye for $23.00. One of the best steaks I have ate. Cook on a flat top by the owner, I asked for medium rare and got medium rare. Friday was Irish philly more like a skillet but very tasty. It’s a philly on top of hash browns and easy over egg on top of that. $8.00. No bun. Sat 12” pizza $13.00 choice of All Meat, Supreme, & Bacon Cheese Burger. And again excellent! As you can see trying it once lead me to eat dinner there the three nights in town. Don’t second guess yourself stop by THE BANK give it a try. And it won’t break the bank either!!

I cannot say enough about this place. Such a fun atmosphere but the food is amazing as well! Taco Tuesdays are awesome….but Thursday night is the best.Ribeye Steaks…call ahead to reserve your steak. They sell out. BEST STEAK IN IOWA! I can’t eat steak anywhere else now!

Small town bar, excellent steak dinner offered on Thursday nights.
Although the menu looked extensive, there was no menu ( prices) for the steak specials. Waitress/ bartender just read from a note on her tablet.
..there was an incident that I thought MANAGEMENT should have came to the table about, but, it looked like there was just the bartender & cook on duty.
The food was good, but, I don’t think we should have been charged for the steak that we sent back & then charged for the replacement (?)…
Also, there was a $4.95 charge for using our debit card that we weren’t made aware of UNTIL after it was processed..
We really liked the food, but, probably won’t go back because of the way the food / check was handled..AND that is a SHAME… ($140 for 3 people)
