OUR STORY Started with a vision of beautiful genuine Vietnamese cuisine. Bánh Mì Très Bon’s dream is to provide authentic Vietnamese, through traditional techniques and return to classic recipes. We needed to travel backwards—all the way back to the basics. We’ve learned from our families generations past that complexity has nothing to do with Vietnamese cuisine—a reminder that simplicity is at the heart of the food. With that thought, we stripped away all the fussiness and fusion and focused on elevating the ingredients and letting them shine. What you will find is pure and genuine Vietnamese food created with the greatest intent to offer our guests fresh, while maintaining familiar flavours that will delight the palette.

The restaurant has a great atmosphere — the decor is stylish, clean, and very welcoming, and the service was excellent. Comparing the price and portion with other pho, it’s on the pricier side. You pay for the location and the ambience.

The only thing that did not hit the 5 star was the pho broth. While it was well-presented, the flavor lacked the depth and richness I’m used to compared to other local pho in GVRD. It wasn’t bad, just different and not as satisfying as expected. Maybe it’s a style of fusion that I’m not familiar with.

Overall, it’s a lovely place with strong service and ambiance.

The Food
⭐⭐
The garnish and plating are picture‑perfect, showcasing a meticulous eye for detail, but the broth itself is astonishingly bland—so much so that I resorted to drizzling on extra sauce, spice, and seasoning just to coax out any flavor. Despite the evident quality of the ingredients, the price feels wildly inflated for a dish that leaves the palate yearning for depth.

The Service
⭐⭐⭐
The staff were warm and welcoming, but they kept their distance. No one stopped by for a quick check‑in, and I ended up getting up to hunt them down whenever I needed anything.

The Atmosphere
⭐⭐⭐⭐
The newly renovated dining room is sharp, impeccably clean, and boasts stylish décor that instantly feels inviting. Yet the atmosphere leans toward a sleepy vibe—relaxed and subdued rather than bustling.

Summary
⭐⭐⭐
The immaculate décor and clean, stylish space are appealing, but a bland, overpriced broth and distant service leave the experience underwhelming—so a visit to Bahn Mi Tres Bon isn’t strongly recommended.

I found their pho flight option very cute. A great way for someone who may not have had pho before to be introduced to it.

Although I did enjoy my visit here, the Richmond location which is their original spot tasted better. This was still good though, but if you like it here, Richmond spot is worth a shot!

Myself and five other ladies went to Bánh Mì Très Bon for high tea, and it did not disappoint. We were seated outside, fully shaded the entire time. The table looked beautiful with flower arrangements, charming china cups and saucers, and a pretty tablecloth.

The food was plentiful, starting with an amazing salad with a choice of lemongrass chicken or prawns. You also get a choice of tea or coffee, hot or iced. Then came the towers of delicious bites—sandwiches, prawn salad rolls, fresh fruit, and an array of tiny desserts like carrot cake, lemon mousse, crème brûlée, and so much more.

If you’re looking to surprise a birthday girl, or simply gather with friends for an afternoon of being spoiled with endless food, I highly recommend booking high tea here.

The service was amazing! The lady Natasha serving us was so elegant and friendly with her service. The pho however, I must say the beef pho options are simply not as good (flavor, amount of beef) as other pho I have had in Greater Vancouver for the cost of $20 and $25. The curry flavor was pretty good, chicken was still slightly dry. The atmosphere is good but food could be better.

From start to finish this is the best dining experience I have had in ages! My daughter and I ordered a few smaller dishes to share and still brought home leftovers.

The salad rolls were delicious and peanut sauce was the perfect accompaniment. We had the trio of mini Banh Mi sandwiches and these fabulous! They baked their own bread daily and it shows. The star was the Duck confit Bao buns. These are hands down the best bao buns I have ever had anywhere.

We wanted the full experience and ordered the tea service and dessert. It was all amazing especially the Passionata. It was full of fresh passion fruit flavour, and my daughter loved the rich chocolate opera cake. The tea was so good I didn’t add any milk or sugar, it didn’t need it at all.

The ambience and service were extraordinary , we couldn’t stop saying what a wonderful evening we had. We WILL be going again! This place is a gem ❤️

Food was great, however service was not so good when we went with our two little ones. Upon arrival our 1st server was not so friendly, she seemed annoyed that we even came in or she didn’t even seem interested to be there that day. I initially asked for a high chair for our daughter, waited 5 min after seating to only ask for it again. Mind you it was NOT busy at all, there was only 4 other customers who were already eating. No water was served after 10 min, we had to ask and we also had to flag down our waitress to order our food. Shortly after we ordered, nobody came to check on us. No “how was your food?” or “Can I clear these plates for you?”…the table across from us did get all the service. Not sure if it was because it was a bunch of men drinking so maybe the waitress thought she would get a better tip from them? I watched the waitress go back and forth to that specific table multiple times. Not Once did she come to ours, which was very disappointing. I did double check if maybe they were short staffed but I was told no. I was told there was a shift change but that doesn’t mean ignoring the other tables and just focusing on one. So I am not sure why service was lacking that day or maybe the waitress just assumed we would not tip as big as a bunch of guys drinking. Very disappointing.

One of my favorite places uptown white rock. The food is amazing, service is hilarious sometimes, and the atmosphere a bit funky and very clean and organized. I must have come here 6 times by now an old keep coming back. We asked the waitress who we can talk to about not paying the bill and she casually said “the cops”. Then i died. The soft shell crab ban mi is a must try imo.
Bon Appétit!

This is my second visit this year and a few times since they opened. The food is amazing and gives me a feeling of comfort, their service is fantastic and I love the Parisian aesthetic vibes but not in a pretentious way.

Today was a solo date, I had the Banh mi and Pho combo from one of their special menu and it really hit the spot. The soup is very tasty, full of flavour, the banh mi is just as delicious, fresh, with layers of goodness and the bread is light and crispy. This is exactly what I was in the mood for, really comforted me from a very busy week. Special kudos to the lady that helped me today, (apologies for not getting her name) she was very patient with all my specifications, she told me to relax and take my time, not to rush as if she can read my mind. Excellent service!

My photos are a combination of my last visit and today’s. Just want to share my families favourites; the chicken wings, Chicken banh mi and spring rolls. They have some amazing desserts too, lots of choices and my daughter and I can’t get enough macarons.
This is the perfect place whether it’s for family dining, happy hour with my bestie or a solo date. I can’t wait to go back.

We had the vegetarian phoa and the Brussel sprouts starter. Both were so flavourful. Met the very humble owner Lam, who opened the White Rock location only 3 years ago. Looking forward to coming back to try their new special satay phoa, which seems to have become quite popular.
