Banh Mi Hoi An does a baguette-style banh mi, and I actually rated it quite highly. It is different from your usual banh mi. The baguette is very chewy, but I liked it as it complemented the ingredients in the filling really well. There was no issue with meat-to-bread ratio at all, it was balanced perfectly, which honestly surprised me.

The only downside for me was that the meat was slightly under-seasoned, but the sauce definitely made up for it. I am pretty sure that was intentional. They also had this pâté-like spread with a barbecue-style flavour. I am not sure exactly what type it was, but it was delicious and something I had not had before, which made it stand out even more for me.

I ordered the “can’t decide” option and everything inside was juicy, moist, tender, and very enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this spot if you are chasing something a bit different from the usual banh mi.

Staff were friendly. The price is a bit higher, but that is understandable for the area.

Worst banh mi I’ve ever had.
The roll was over-cooked and stale and the pork was pure fat with hardly any meat and crackling.
Had high expectations due to the good reviews but was severely let down.
Won’t be back.

It was…ok. Bread a was dense like a sourdough making it chewy especially when the pate soaked into in. It was a bit bland and lacked that sweet, salty, sour punchy banh mi flavour. A different addition was fresh mint which i quite enjoyed.

My banh mi review tour took me further east to Banh Mi Hoi An in Richmond. This is the best in presentation, with delightful Hoi An lanterns and street scene murals. Prices in the $12-$13 range are a bit pricey, although the bread is slightly longer.

Wow. I thought, gee how many Banh Mi joints can a single strip handle? Indeed, how many outstanding Banh Mi joints can a single strip handle? Two so far – I’m yet to try the others.

The pate here is more of a mince by my reckoning, and it’s delicious. A pate spreads – it’s a paste; whereas this is spooned on, generously – the common denominator is that it’s liver. A quibble perhaps … but.

I bought the crispy roast pork – it was generously loaded with all of the genuine ingredients of a banh mi. Flavours of vietnamese herbs – and when requesting a small amount of chilli, they listened. Delightfully subtle chilli hit. Generous, well cooked, sizable roast pork chunks were moist and had a lovely amount of well rendered fat. Awesome!

The spring rolls, fantastic – they came with sweet chili sauce, although I opted to eat my roll unadorned.

The staff were friendly and enthusiastic. *****

Limited seats against the wall and seating outside with tables – it was a hot day, so it was scoffed in transit homeward.

I recommend this place if you’re a banh mi fan, or simply as a joint to get a superb roll. The range of fillings are really a step beyond the usual suspects.

It’s beyond belief has this place has a rating of 4.7?!? The Bahn mi was so dry, it’s the first Bahn mi that I haven’t even finished cause it was so underwhelming. The ambiance and the service was amazing however the food is bad enough that I would never recommend this place to anybody. Go here if you like dry and crunchy Bahn mi

I keep finding better and better crispy pork rolls.
These were magnificent!
One foot long!
The rolls were perfect.
Warm, crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside and a little chewy.
As though they had just come out of the oven…..Yummy…
The filling was fresh and tasty. The pork juicy the crackling crunchy.
The ladies serving were well organised and friendly.
Ahhhh. So good!
I WILL BE BACK.

I keep coming back.
I think this place is my number 1.

They must be good!
Always busy around lunchtime.

I’ve tried a lot of bánh mì, and this place just gets it right. Stepping into Bánh Mì Hội An feels like finding a hidden treasure. The baguettes are phenomenal, so airy and crispy they practically melt in your mouth. The fillings are generous and the flavors are so authentic and well-balanced. It’s the perfect quick lunch that never disappoints. Seriously, if you’re in the area, you need to grab one of these. You won’t regret it.

Easily the best banh mi place on Bridge Rd. I particularly love the french baguette roll, it’s slightly different from your regular fat roll – longer and crunchier so extra fillings. Enough roll and filling here to leave you satisifed.

They don’t mess around with dumb variations like some other places attempting to mix it up (i.e. chicken sausage, fish ) keeping it original and perfect as should be.

Love that they use Vietnamese mint along with coriander and mint (Vietnamese mint not always common on a banh mi but should be). Fresh zesty salad and extra crispy pork, doing the simple things well makes this banh mi joint the best on Bridge Rd.

The spring rolls are something else, too, and are not to be missed. Full of flavour and great with the dipping sauce.

Colourful artwork & vibe at this venue are on point and reasonable priced.
