This is my first time trying Vietnamese banh mi, and I’m really impressed. The bread is crispy, the meat filling is generous, and the mayonnaise sauce is absolutely delicious. I’ll definitely return to try other items.

The banh bao here is really tasty. The meat filling is tender, not greasy, and the dough is fluffy without being too thick. It’s the perfect comfortod, and exactly what I’ve been missing. Highly recommend.

I’m not Vietnamese, but I love traditional pastries, and this place is perfect for satisfying my cravings. Their pastries, especially the banana cake, are so rich and creamy without being overly sweet. It’s a wonderful mix of Eastern and Western flavors

I tried the vegetarian banh mi here, and I was pleasantly surprised. The fresh vegetables and tofu filling were so flavorful, not greasy at all. Perfect for anyone looking for a tasty vegetarian option.

Highly underrated! Although this place is located in New Orleans East, a very sketchy and dangerous area, this place has the best Banh Mi! The service is nice and the inside is well organized and clean. I’d recommend the Banh Mi “Thap Cam” which is basically the special Vietnamese sandwich with plenty of cold cuts ($5.99). The taste is perfection. They’re not stingy with the portions, and everything seems to be made fresh. For $5.99, this sandwich is a stellar price! A bougie Viet establishment, like Dough Nguyener’s Bakery in Gretna, would overcharge customers for a sandwich like this one for $14.00, yet the quality would only be mid. If you’re craving an authentic Banh Mi for a reasonable price, I’d definitely recommend Banh Mi Cali.

This bakery has great bread, but the staff is even friendlier. When I asked about the bread, they explained it like they were telling a store. I’ll definitely be back for more pastries and the fun atmosphere.

Bruh WHAT!??? The Banh Mi is PERFECTION. My life is in shambles. I found out about this place last week and have already gone back 4 times. The bread is so….gentle? Dong Phuong’s bread is a bit tougher and resistant to chewing in comparison. I get the number 2 and the number 5 every time. The meat to bread ratio is perfect. Both are some sort of Pork (Not sure what kind), and the quality is great for what you pay for. I believe that most of the sandwiches are between $4.99 and $5.99. If only the Vietnamese iced coffee were a bit stronger, then I would have no reason to visit Dong Phuong’s until King Cake season.
