Second visit, the taro milk tea stole the show: delicious, tasteful, and not overly sweet. The staff stands out as incredibly friendly, always welcoming and attentive. Highly recommend for dessert lovers—can’t wait to go back!
Food:
Tried the Chicken Banh Mi ($9.99 before tax). Generous portion. The baguette was dense with a crisp outer shell and slightly chewy inside—good, though I prefer a lighter, airier crunch. The chicken was savory and well-seasoned, paired with fresh cilantro, pickled daikon, carrots, and onions. A bit more spread inside would have elevated the balance, but overall the flavors were fresh and satisfying.
Service:
Friendly staff and very quick service during lunch.
Value:
Reasonable for the size and quality at $9.99.
Overall:
Solid first visit. Tasty and filling. Will return to try other varieties, especially if they refine the bread texture.
The chicken bahn mi was slightly dry. It wasn’t the best bahn mi I’ve had.
Everyone here at banh mi cafe is efficient and welcoming, so service is quick. You can easily order at the kiosk if you’re feeling antisocial, the the staff are open to answering questions too. I usually go with the standard deli meat sandwich which is phenomenal. I tried their bbq pork and their lemongrass tofu last night. Both were super tasty, but I’m always nostalgic for a traditional banh mi personally. However, the lemongrass tofu was honestly a sleeper hit. It’s really flavorful and has such a nice contrasting texture against their French bread. Highly recommend it here! Their fresh rolls are also fantastic—extremely crisp, I think they add chive in it? It’s great, whatever it is lol. I will say, in the dozens of times I’ve been, they have only sold out of bread once after 6/6:30pm, but when I tell you I was absolutely devastated…so get there early if you can!
The person at the counter was welcoming, kind, and answered my banh mi newbie questions a most helpful manner.
While this place is tiny, the flavors ate big, bright, satisfying. If we lived nearby, I’m sure we’d be here regularly.
What an excellent find!!
