Disappointing! We were taking a walk and found this place and we enjoy a good Banh Mi. I have to say that I was disappointed because it’s not a traditional Banh Mi. I think they would manage expectations more if they were to add a sign, slogan or something like that to mention it’s “modern twist, inspired…” Once I passed the fact that it was not traditional Banh mi, I thought the taste was not well balanced. Too strong in flavors. Too much of good things. I cannot say that it’s bad, I just did not leave impressed or desire to go back. What’s good? The staff was nice, the decor is fun. Stool and bar eating counter style is always fun. The prices are fair. A place you can also grab something to go with a decent price.

I got to try the banh mi from here at work and I was so disappointed. Although the name “banh mi” makes you think it’s a Vietnamese sandwich, it has nothing to do with it. The only thing that is vietnamese in here are the baguette bread and the pickles, the sauce and meat are nothing like a Vietnamese banh mi. .The pork banh mi has bbq sauce in it anf the meat is like pulled pork. The tofu banh mi has barely any tofu and has indian sauce!!! If you’re looking for authentic Vietnamese banh mi, try somewhere else.

Came in on a spur of the moment decision and it turned out to be the quickest most delicious sandwich! The tofu is so well seasoned and marinated I’ve never enjoyed tofu but this made me change my mind. Will be coming back when I’m in Montreal next time!

Great place for a casual lunch or quick dinner in the Mile End!
My boyfriend and I both tried the tofu sandwich and it was delicious! It was made with tofu skin, which was well seasoned and had a great texture.
It was easy to make vegan by just asking for no mayo.

I suggest the health department visit this shop. I found several pieces of hair in my bahn mi sandwich. None of the workers who had long hair were wearing hair nets. Their hair was loose or loosely tied back with pieces hanging out. Also, one specific worker was in his phone during slow moments (fine) but then once an order came through, he immediately started chopping veggies and assembling food without washing his hands or wearing gloves. Absolutely disgusting. Phones are covered in bacteria that’s now all over those sandwiches. I was too disturbed to eat. Left 90% of my meal uneaten and exited.

Dropped in on a Monday at around 11 to pick up some sammies for the drive back to NYC. We had the char siu chicken and the pork bánh mis. They were pretty good, which a good amount of meat in them. The pork was a little salty, and then end part was almost like jerky, so I would recommend the char siu chicken. By the way, this is just char siu-flavored chicken. We were confused about what it actually was until we bit into it. We ended up eating this one the next day after re-toasted it, and it was still pretty good. Not the best bánh mi out there, but it will do if you have a craving!

Wanted to like it more. These aren’t traditional banh mi, and I kinda feel that should be more transparent. The pork was kinda mushy, like a pulled pork that’s been really over pulled. The pickles aren’t nearly as good as hung phat, less flavor. The chicken satay was a pretty good satay but it was bland in a big baguette. And I don’t think the sauce was reduced like it should be. We didn’t get sick, it was ok, and the service was friendly. So three stars.
