Finally! Day 2 since opening. Great subs, limited menu to start and seems like they’re just getting settled in to a flow which is to be expected. It is deli style counter service, so gets a little crowded when it’s busy. But overall they are getting the orders out pretty quick, took about 10 minutes from getting in line to order in hand.
The bread and the pickled carrots/daikon are the stars of the show. I did ask for extra spicy, but I think it was interpreted as no spice because there was one or two jalapenos. That being said, not a deal breaker because the rest of the ingredients are on point and the price is very fair. Looking forward to coming back

We waited in line yesterday eager to finally try Bahn Mi An! We have been patiently waiting for opening day. While first day there were some definite growing pains, the sesame cream coffee alone was worth the wait! I will dream about this coffee until I get my next fix! My partner and I had the classic bahn mi and it was amazing! I’ve been privileged to grow up in cities where I was exposed to quite a bit of bahn mi and I’ve learned that the baguette makes or breaks it. This baguette was perfection. That crispy, airy rice flour baguette was exactly what I was taught to look for and they nailed it! They make the pâté in house and they don’t scrimp putting it on when making this sandwich. The pickled veg were also delicious. Needless to say, we will be regulars here. So excited to have this gem in Nanaimo!
