Absolutely loved our meal at Bangkok Thai! Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor and tasted incredibly authentic. The veggies were fresh, vibrant, and cooked to perfection — you can really tell they care about the quality of their ingredients.

The staff was so warm and welcoming, making the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. Our food came out quickly, and there’s plenty of parking, which made things super convenient.

There’s a huge variety of vegetarian and vegan options, which we really appreciated, and everything was very reasonably priced. We tried their special — two for $40 — which includes a 3-course meal with soup and salad, and it was such a great deal.

Definitely planning to go back and explore more of the menu. Highly recommend!

Overall Score: 4.9/10 – The overall atmosphere is modest, with a simple and smaller setting. While the servers are attentive with water, their quiet demeanor and a notable mistake at an adjacent table, which led to those customers leaving, did affect the overall experience.

Atmosphere: 4.7/10 – The space is small and lacks distinctive features, offering a straightforward dining environment. It’s clean and functional but lacks elements that might make it stand out. The simplicity might appeal to those seeking a no-frills dining experience.

Service: 3.8/10 – The service is punctual, particularly with keeping water glasses filled, but the staff’s quietness might not suit everyone. Observing a significant error with another table’s order suggests that service consistency could be improved to avoid impacting the dining experience of others.

Pineapple Fried Rice: 6.2/10 – A satisfying dish featuring a good mix of ingredients like fresh chicken and excellent shrimp. The dish is well-flavored and priced reasonably, offering a decent value for those looking for quality and freshness in their meal.

Appetizer Platter: 6.1/10 – Tasty overall with a highlight being the excellent chicken satay. The variety is appreciated, though the quantity provided does not fully justify the price, particularly when trying to enjoy all the different sauces available. More generous portions would enhance the value of this platter.

Worst Thai curry I have ever had. Panang 0/5. Tastes like watered down coconut milk and dust. Pad Thai was 3 out of 5 meh. Pineapple fried rice was greasy 1/5. Weak Thai. Doesn’t taste fresh, they definitely aren’t making that curry paste in house.

Food was amazing! Service was good. Could have been a little happier even if we were early but the experience was still great. We will be back!

I had the chicken red curry for lunch and I was very disappointed. Perhaps I have grown too accustomed to delicious Thai food being the standard in the triangle. Unfortunately at Bangkok Thai Restaurant in Wake Forest, the chicken red curry is very thin and lacking flavor. It reminded me more of a watery thai tea than delicious red curries I have had at other Thai restaurants.

The portioning and presentation was very strange as well. I was served a bowl full of the watery curry with a few peppers, bamboo shoots, and pieces of chicken drowning in the curry. I was given a very small plate of a cute but lacking portion of heart shaped white rice. The rice barely lasted through a few spoonfuls of the curry. It was annoyingly difficult to eat the combined dish on the small plate. I dared not place the rice into my bowl of curry, lest it be lost forever in the waves.

The service was very casual and I was questioned whether I was sure about my order. I guess I should have taken that as my sign to leave. They never brought our drinks until after our food was done.

The lighting was dim and there was a weird smell.

In an area filled with great Thai restaurants, I will be happy to never return to this place.

I’ve been ordering takeout from Bangkok Thai in Wake Forest at least twice a month, and it’s become my go-to spot for delicious Thai food. Their pineapple fried rice is a total winner—perfectly cooked rice mixed with sweet, juicy pineapple chunks and savory flavors that hit all the right spots. It’s consistently amazing and always feels like a treat. The chicken wings are another must-have; they’re crispy, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely addictive. I can’t get enough of them, and they travel well for takeout, arriving hot and fresh every time.

Ordering to-go is super convenient, and the staff is always friendly when I pick up my food. The portions are generous, and the presentation is vibrant, even in takeout containers, which makes the meal feel special. Plus, the strip mall location has plenty of free parking, so it’s easy to swing by and grab my order without any hassle.
My only suggestion, and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5, is that I’d love to see a bit more variety on the menu. The current dishes are fantastic, but something like mango fried rice would be a fun addition to mix things up alongside the pineapple version. Spicy chicken wings would also be a great option for those of us who like a little kick. These additions could make the menu even more exciting for regulars like me.

Bangkok Thai is a gem for takeout in Wake Forest, and I highly recommend trying their pineapple fried rice and chicken wings. Keep up the great work, and I’m hoping for those new menu items soon!

Lunch with a friend was enhanced in this amazing resteraunt. Its small and quaint yet ample space to be quiet and welcoming. Food was amazing! Portions are generous I had leftovers for lunch the next day. Will definitely be planning more meetings here.

I pushed my way through the doordashers to find tables begging for human contact. The kind server offered suggestions but since it was my first time here, I knew I had to order tom ka gai and some sort of panang so I picked my favorite protein, grilled salmon. The soup had a slight kick and none of that sickly sweetness found at other local Thai places. The star of the show was this huge honkin slab of grilled salmon smothered in the most perfect consistency of curry with a little yow, that’s spicy on top. The green beans were cooked past the lumber stage often served elsewhere. The thing that stood out was the curry had just the right thickness, not colored milk and not thick sloppy goop. Service and kitchen are winners but the room has all the charm of a DMV waiting area.

I went here for lunch and got the lunch special with one other person. It was definitely a good price for what we got, and we even had leftovers. We were impressed with the quality and taste. The service was good, too, but we were the only ones there due to the timing of a layer lunch. I look forward to coming back here.
