Please give the restaurant a try,, they genuinely deserve the support!
When we got home, we opened two dishes and chopsticks only to find bugs. All I know is that we opened the chopsticks and the food at the same time we saw the bugs crawling around. Not sure in what order the bugs appeared but suffice to say it came from the restaurant.
We called this restaurant immediately, spoke with a woman on the phone. Initially, they refused to do anything about it because they believed it was found in the chopsticks not in the food and wasn’t their responsibility. (Which they gave us both the food and chopsticks, also that’s pretty gross health standards in my opinion) I told them we found bugs both in the dishes and chopsticks, the woman on the phone didn’t believe me. She refused to issue a refund and only offered to re-make the food if we came down there to show them the bugs in the food because she said her boss won’t let her do anything without proof. They were emphasizing that we need to provide proof.
I live nearby so we came back prepared with the bug filled food, only to be met with a rude and aggressive waitress. I felt like she was rushing to get us out as soon as we entered, she had the re-made food ready and told us to take the food and said, “Yea sorry just tell me what the problem is”. Um, ok.
We showed her the first dish that had a dead bug (that we killed) in it, she picked it up with her hand and laughed. She said “that’s not a bug that’s just the dish”. So then we showed her the second dish and then the chopsticks – there were still live bugs moving in the food and in the chopsticks. Then she said, “Oh, okay then yea.” She offered no apology, just kind of shrugged. At that point, my sister doesn’t want to eat the re-made food – neither did I. We asked for a refund, the waitress said they can’t do that because it’s a long process to get the credit card transaction reversed. We ask for a cash refund she said she can’t do that either.
In the end, they only offered to remake one dish and give us three drinks to cover the second dish. Whatever, we end up taking it. We can drink the drinks and just donate the food to someone on the street.
I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, in fact take this as a warning – do not come here!
After the meal there, we were up pretty much all night because we were so thirsty, needing to drink water lol. As much as I wanted like this place, we probably won’t come back here as there are so many other Thai restaurants we have to explore !
