It’s a great small restaurant. We had two different dishes and they come with the rice on the side. So you can choose how much rice you want. And it’s not soaked like in other places.

I absolutely love Bangkok 56! Every time I go, I feel like I’m getting a warm hug in the form of Thai food. My go to order is always the larb, drunken noodles, and a side of their simple fried rice and honestly, I could eat that combo every day.
The larb is so fresh and flavorful, with that perfect hit of lime and spice. The drunken noodles are packed with bold flavor and just the right amount of heat, comforting but with a kick. And their fried rice might sound basic, but it’s anything but. It’s just so satisfying.
Service is always friendly and the food comes out quick and hot. If you haven’t been yet, you’re seriously missing out!

My favorite Thai place. Prices are getting higher and higher though. But if you need to treat yourself, come here, the servers are great and has been there for years. Request the pepper condiments, they pickle fresh Thai pepper from their garden. If you have a allergy they will TRY to accommodate but the chef will give you hell.

I have been a big fan of this restaurant for the last 20 years. Today I placed an order at 4:30 for 4 entrees and one soup. I was told the order would be ready in 25 minutes. I arrived at 5:10, due to traffic, and the woman asked me to verify the receipt and took my credit card. I then waited 20 more minutes for them to prepare the food and left at 5:30. They clearly do not prepare the food until you arrive and pay them. Totally unacceptable! I would gladly pay when I place order. This has never happened before. Others were also waiting. Under new ownership. Prices went up and the portions got smaller. Waitress and cook were rude and very argumentative. Flavor isn’t there anymore, what a shame, this was my favorite Thai spot. We had to ask for our check a few times and had to wait over 45 mins to receive it to pay and leave.
Oh, and they serve E1 on plates now, not in a bowl. Too many changes and the food and staff were very disappointing.

We’ve been here a few times and it’s a good spot for Thai in the Harrisburg area. On our last visit we got a small Tom Yum soup (spicy lemon grass soup with mushroom and smoked chili), drunken noodles with medium spice, and tapioca for dessert. All three dishes were good for this area. We also decided to skip the Thai iced tea when we visited because it was just average the last time we went

This is my favorite place to eat in Harrisburg! I always order the sweet and sour (E.6) with chicken. It comes with rice and is so tasty! $21 before tip and worth it. You will not walk away hungry! I usually have enough left over to take home for later. Love the atmosphere! Everything feels so authentic and unique from the cuisine to the elephant statuettes on the wall. No tvs or loud music. Can’t wait to come back!

The food is delicious but the chef has a very bad attitude. I still recommend though. Despite the one bad encounter, it wasnt enough to keep me away. Thats how delicious the food is! I have tried numerous dishes and not one of them have disappointed me.

2019 update. Still A favorite place to eat. I once have this place 5 stars but recently decided to change my review because of the owners attitudes. They really couldn’t Care less about their customers. I pointed out how dirty the chairs were and the owners told me that if I didn’t like it,I could go somewhere else. I was really nice about it and figured she didn’t know…… in actuality she didn’t Care. Even her workers were complaining about her to me. The owners are her and the cook. The workers were Apologizing for her nasty behavior and said they always have to put up with it. The food here is delicious but the place and Owners are nasty. I have photos attached.
2021 Update- the prices on the menu are not accurate. There is no “Lunch Option” prices anymore. They charge dinner prices for it all. You do not get the same amount for takeout as you do for dine in for certain dishes. The takeout is not as good for some reason and all the prices seem to have gone up. This place is slowly starting to fall.
