First time stopping in and got lucky. I went on taco Tuesday!!!! $2 tacos. Authentic food. Made in about 5 minutes. Nice area to eat, although we had to get ours to go. Kid friendly. Nice clientele. Food was excellent, so says my 15 year old that ate all 5 tacos I bought . Next time I’m buying 7 so I can have a couple. Oh, they also have a drive through.

I loved this place! I had a carne asada burrito and my wife had the steak Bandido Super Fries. The portions were huge! I enjoyed that they didn’t charge extra for guacamole, which most restaurants seem to do. The food was delicious!

Staff was helpful, kind and had genuine smiles of acknowledgement. This was my second visit and though I would usually hold off on a review for a few more visits in order to offer a truly balanced recommendation, you need to try the food! Too good not to highly recommend.
FYI, if you like some spice the serrano sauce is amazing! There are a bunch to add to the flavor profile of whatever you decide to enjoy!!

Bandito’s Taco Tuesday special is a highlight of my week! The servers are always very nice. Genesis in particular is exceptional. She’s so friendly and fun and is a great ambassador for the company. I always look forward to getting tacos here. Their horchata is excellent, too!

This is in response to I D about the restaurant.They claim their camera sometimes isn’t working. Or if something happens they refuse to look at it when it could mean something against them in any way. I don’t think the Owner is bad at all. I think he just isn’t aware of the behaviors of a few of the people who work in the St matthews location. There food is great, but the attitudes of a few there are not good at all. He wants to believe in no wrong doing by a few but he needs to sometimes speak directly with the customers who actually liked his restaurant. Everything isn’t always as it seems.

Our first visit to Bandido Taqueria Mexicana was awesome. Although we’ve driven by it countless times, on a recent Friday we were looking for Mexican, but wanted to try something new. Bandido did us well!
Located on Shelbyville Road in St. Matthews, it’s kind of unassuming in that there aren’t flashing lights or neon. Just a simple sign on the roadside. When we first pulled in the parking lot we weren’t even sure if they had seating, but luckily they did.
Bandido isn’t a full-service eatery, but an “order at the counter and we’ll call your name when it’s ready” kind of place.
The menu is extensive and features a number of signature burritos, almost all of which I wouldn’t mind trying on my next visit. I’m particularly interested in the Chile Relleno Burrito, but they all look amazing.
BUT…Jim is a sucker for Street Tacos so, yea… I had street tacos — Chicken, to be exact. When ordering street tacos all three have to be the same kind; no mix-and-match, and I’m OK with that. We ordered a basked of chips and salsa also (yes, there’s an upcharge). There’s also a salsa bar with several kinds of salsa for your meal enhancement.
OH…and most importantly…they have Glass Bottle Coke®. In order to truly appreciate Street Tacos you have to have glass bottle Coke®. This is the way.
Our food delivery was about ten minutes and everything came out grand. Our food was hot, the chips and salsa were tasty, and my street tacos were a-maze-ing. I opted to make mine a combo, adding riced and refried beans. Refried beans in Mexican eateries can vary from seriously average to amazing, so you’re never sure what to expect. Bandido’s refried beans were out-freaking-standing. I’m not sure what kind of magic goes into them, but they are most awesome.
The decor is, in keeping with the Mexican theme, bright and colorful, with yellow being the primary color. It’s not overly decorate wall-to-wall television screens.
During our visit I saw a good number of people come in for takeout, so I’m guessing they do a pretty good takeout visit.
I’m glad we finally tried Bandido. We generally have a monthlong rotation of Friday dinner spots and I think Bandido has now been added to that list.

Service was mid but we are here for the tacos and they slapped. Husband got the nacho burrito and loved it. I got the wowie maui which is a version of the al pastor, and the fish taco. I’m still dreaming about the wowie Maui 10 hours later. The fish taco could’ve been a little more punchy (pickled onion maybe?) but it was perfectly fried. Was great with the doña sauce though. Portion sizes enormous! There were only 3 people there on a Sunday at lunch and food came out exceptionally fast.

Delicious food! We came back two nights in a row. The first night we got the crispy taco and burrito bowl. The second night a burrito bowl, Birria Tacos, and Carne Asada Street tacos. Try the different sauces. It’s all good!!
