We bring to you the taste of an authentic Mexican restaurant with the traditional recipes of our family, we arrived in southern California with the commitment to provide excellent service. Why Bandeño? It is a kind of chile native of the state of Guerrero, Mexico, and it is named in this way because it is cultivated on the banks of the rivers.

My wife and I are huge Formula One fans, and Bandeño has become part of our race-weekend tradition. Every race weekend, we order Bandeño. Sometimes twice or we order the night before the races that start really before they open at 9:00am, yes, it’s that good! It’s our version of race fuel, like the rally monkey is for the Angels, or cheeseheads are for the Packers! The flavors are bold, fresh, and unmistakably authentic in a way that’s hard to find and it has never disappointed.
We love it so much that we’ve basically turned into unpaid ambassadors. We’ve told friends, neighbors, and anyone who will listen, and we even cater Bandeño for our employees once a quarter because it’s a guaranteed crowd-pleaser. If you want food that feels real, made with care, and tastes incredible every single time, this is the place.
We just found out they also have a location in Fullerton and we’ve started to take our friends in Fullerton and they all have loved it so much they take pictures and send us every time they go!
Last thing, you MUST try their spicy hot green salsa! We only wish they sold it so we could stock up!

We were so tired from flying/long travel day, that we just needed to find something close to our hotel. It was great! Fast but surprisingly good food. Loved the little self serve salsa bar.

I saw this new Mexican joint on yelp and I decided to try their hardshell tacos and let me tell you they were absolutely delicious! The shredded beef taco I got was so amazing, the meat was fresh and although the tacos look a little small, don’t let that fool you because it’s a solidly packed taco. I also got a hard shelled deep-fried chicken taco and that was amazing as well! I was taking pictures and the employees there were very welcoming and actually told me to take pictures of them so I did! They were absolutely so nice and very very sociable. This deep-fried taco was so crispy it was served hot and fresh, the tacos were about three dollars each and so worth it! Give this place a try you won’t regret it! There is a cute outdoor seating area and there is plenty plenty of parking so you won’t have any problem finding a parking spot. They practiced social distancing and they offer to go orders. Food is alright but portions are tiny for the price. Staff is very rude. They also have a hidden credit card fee. I would avoid this place – there’s just as good Mexican food at a better price without the shitty attitude in the area.

I usually like it here but my relleno burrito was covered in grease. I was unable to pick it up. I used a bunch of paper towels to dry it off. I opened it and up it on a plate to try and salvage my meal. The inside was flavorless. The tortilla was so greasy that you could see the plate design through it. It cost way too much to be this bad. It was inedible so I threw it in the trash. DoorDash refused to refund me. It’ll be a while before I go back to this place I normally enjoy. Incredibly disappointing.

I’m from Boyle Heights/East LA area, born and raised there. I moved to Anaheim two years ago. I do miss walking down the street to any local Mexican food restaurant that provides authentic flavors.
I like menudo and as a Sunday treat after church service, it is customary for us to have a good lunch. I decided to do a google search of Menudo and my search introduced me to Bandeno Mexican food restaurant.
I decided to head out with my son and grab a nice bowl of menudo to my surprise as I walked in. It was a lively & friendly vibe. The menu is pretty extensive offering from tacos typical combo plates, soup and salad; add a modelo beer if you like.
I was greeted and welcomed by the owners, and they gave me an appetizer of their beans with salsa and cheese on top, and the chips were made fresh The beans were sooo yummy!!
My menudo was delicious! My son had 2 shrimp tacos with beans and rice.
The appetizer of beans, salsa topped with cheese are so delicious and spicy but I couldn’t stop eating them .
The customer service, food and vibe was awesome. I highly recommend anyone looking for authentic Mexican food to come to this place. It is worth it.
