My first time to visit, and the staff were very welcoming. The food was amazing, with choices of mild, medium, hot, and Thai hot. I went mild, and it was very nice. Generous servings too. I’ll definitely be going back there. A relaxed atmosphere to enjoy your meal.

Food orders was quickly taken after a few minutes of checking out the menu. We ordered crispy pad prik king and sizzling beef. They offer alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. Food presentation was excellent. Food serving is quite good. The pork was nice and crispy. The vegetables are not overcooked. However, taste wise seemed lacking in flavours. This goes with sizzling beef as well beef is nice and tender but in terms of taste it is not authentic Thai. So definitely a fail for me. The sizzling beef was definitely not sizzling it was pretty bland.

Ban Thai Bar and Restaurant is located on Goondoon St, closer to the bottom of the street. We hadn’t been here before so just tried a couple of the dishes. We had Chicken Pad Thai and Pork Fried rice. Both were flavoursome and fresh. We’ll be back to try the Sizzling Beef, a curry and coconut rice next time

We ordered prawn pad thai and crispy pork stir fry. Not authentic pad thai, very saucy. Not the usual consistency that I’m used to. Prawns were on the verge of being overcooked but good amount of them in the dish. A wedge of lime and chilli would have lifted the dish cutting through the thick sauce. The pork was way overcooked, there’s crispy then there’s crispy maybe cooked a few times over and over? Asked for mild chilli the dish came out more high end of medium. We left feeling disappointed and a bit lighter in the wallet.

We ordered take away, Pad See Ew, and Prik Khing. They were borderline inedible. So disappointed, as Thai is my favourite cuisine. They were not authentic, and so bland.

Worst Thai food. The satay had a very foul smell. Just returned. Didn’t bother eating it. Fried was okay. Prawn stir fry was not that great. Won’t be going back.

Had a great meal here whilst up in Gladstone for work. Very timely service, great taste I would particularly recommend the red curry with roast duck. I thought the price as very reasonable given the quality and quantity.
