My husband and I chose this spot for my birthday dinner based on friends’ recommendation. Huge mistake.
We arrived 15 minutes early, apparently a big no no here. Despite three (then four) blatantly empty tables right in front, the hostesses couldn’t be bothered to seat us until the reservation time hit exactly. Nothing screams “welcome” like forcing customers to stand awkwardly while open tables gather dust for no reason. I would understand this if the restaurant were busy, if there was a wait, or if guests with earlier reservations were ahead of us. but, no.
We were finally seated right at the reserved time which honestly felt like a joke at that point, we were seated by the door, of course, where a constant cold draft made keeping jackets on mandatory and comfort impossible. We politely asked to switch to the corner table that had just cleared (still dirty). She said It’s reserved for someone else. Felt more like they just didn’t want to wipe it down for us. The entire staff radiated zero warmth, zero smiles, zero effort. The whole experience felt actively unwelcome, like they were annoyed we showed up to dine and silently wished we’d leave.
Food was equally underwhelming. Two rolls took 30 minutes to arrive. The soy sauce bottle was completely empty, despite having 15 minutes to prep the table, no one checked a thing. The fish was mushy, tasteless, and far from fresh. Fake wasabi too, because why bother with quality when the prices already pretend it’s premium? For what they charge and claim, this was straight up mediocre.
This was meant to be a special night. Instead, it was cold (literally and figuratively), uncomfortable, and miserable. We barely ordered anything beyond the basics and couldn’t wait to escape. If you’re thinking of reserving here: don’t arrive early, or at all. They clearly don’t value your business or your evening. Never returning.
