Had an absolutely lovely time here. The staff was very friendly. We wanted a whole fish and the waiter suggested to do it two ways- crispy fried salt and pepper style and steamed with ginger scallion. The fried style was quite oily and heavy but still delicious, and the steam style was very light. Just be careful because the fried fillet pieces have bones in them. Highly recommend the watercress stir fry!! The prices seem a bit high but with declining quality at Chen Garden, we’ll probably return.

Came for Christmas dinner. It was very busy but food was great. Ordered veggie lo mein, shrimp with snow peas, kung pao chicken and fried tofu stuffed with minced shrimp! Excellent service even though the restaurant was full.

Been coming here for a while and I’m never disappointed. I’m originally from NYC, grew up in Chinatown and my Dad was in the restaurant business most of his adult life. The food at Bamboo House is always made well and isn’t “tourist” centered. The food is authentic and if you ask, there is a Chinese menu (with English for most of it) that features several dishes a Chinese family will likely be more familiar with. The staff are attentive and the atmosphere is calm and cozy. If you’re looking for authentic Chinese cuisine with a nice atmosphere, you won’t go wrong at Bamboo House.

So delicious! One of the best Chinese restaurants in Rochester! And I love the online ordering option. I always find stressful to Oder over the phone. The sesame chicken was really good! And the family style tofu was *chef’s kiss*! Highly recommend!

I have ordered from here a couple times with no issues but yesterday, I wasted $23.00, I ordered chicken wings, and sesame chicken with fried rice. The rice was half-white and half brown, the chicken wings, the skin was chewy, and the flesh was tough (tasted like old meat), the sesame chicken did not taste right, almost spoiled. I called and the lady that answered, said we have had many orders today and no complaints, I am not sure if she was just saying that, but even if you had no complaints, here I am complaining, at least say come back, or apologize ( I would have gladly taken it back for her to see it), but I decided you know what I just won’t order from there anymore and I tossed the whole meal, $23.00 wasted. I can’t believe the cook allowed that food to leave the restaurant.

We have been customers for many years. It is a great menu and we like the food quality better than another place down the road. Unfortunately the service has always been fair at best. Back when you could eat in, it was considered humorous by people we ate there with, that the wait staff were so indifferent and inattentive. We have been trying to support them more often during the pandemic with take out but their service has gotten even worse. Our order was once given to other people and another time an item was missing. When I picked up our last order men were drinking without masks at the end of the bar where the pick up station is. The staff person told me to come there to pick up the order and pay and when I asked her to come to the other end of the bar because people were unmasked she acted miffed then took my card. She then took phone calls for several minutes leaving waiting for my card and ignored me when I tried to get her attention. We do like their food. It’s too bad they have such a hard time being courteous to customers.
