Lately, our to-go orders have been coming with an extremely small amount of sauce on the entrees. On multiple occasions, we’ve paid extra for additional sauce for our meals not to be dry, and then discovered when we get home that it’s either barely there or completely missing. During our most recent pickup, the extra sauce we paid for was not included at all.
When we asked about it, we were told the sauce was already on the meal. We opened the container, and it very clearly was not. We were then told that if the sauce was provided on the side, we would need to be charged…despite the fact that we had already paid for extra sauce with our order. Are we to be charged again? We shouldn’t need to pay for “extra sauce” to just bring the dish to an appropriate level for an Italian entree. Its dry pasta with the eggplant parm or chicken parm on top, and whatever sauce is on that is what’s considered the sauce for the dish. We arent wanting to drown our meal. Just not interested in dry pasta.
Arguing with repeat customers over $2 worth of sauce, especially when the dish is noticeably dry, is disappointing and honestly unnecessary. Charging for sauce is one thing, but charging for it and then not providing it (or insisting it’s there when it isn’t) is another. All of this is a turn off for us to continue. And we’ve been loyal for a decade.
We’ve continued ordering because we like the food (or did before sauce shrinkflation), but this has become a recurring issue that takes away from the desire. Hopefully this is something that can be addressed, because we’d really prefer to stay loyal customers rather than feel frustrated every time we pick up our food. However, this may be our last time ordering today, to be honest. The quality and service really went downhill. I miss Bonnie.
Basic hygiene should be a non-negotiable standard for any restaurant, and this place failed miserably.
I will never be returning, and I strongly advise others to think twice before eating here. I can only imagine the state of the kitchen. Absolutely appalling.
Tonight’s delights were a pepperoni pizza for the teenager, blackened fettuccini Alfredo, and chicken parmigiana. My husband enjoyed a fantastically crafted espresso martini.
All the food is delicious! Like I said, we’ve never gone wrong, but hands down, our favorite part of any Bambinelli’s meal is the garlic knots. We could gorge on those any day!
I ordered calamari that was cooked well and seasoned nicely! I also got the peach wine sangria with rum. I ordered the lasagna, my mom had the sausage and pepper spaghetti and my sister ordered shrimp and chicken fettuccine with broccoli.
The portion sizes were big!
I would definitely recommend this establishment.
