Finding a bug in your food is completely unacceptable and honestly shocking. That alone is enough to ruin a meal, but what made it worse was calling the restaurant and being blamed for it instead of receiving an apology or concern. Every first Sunday of the month we order three or four of these fish for our family dinner, so we’ve been loyal customers for a long time. To experience something so unsanitary and then be treated rudely and disrespectfully by the employees was extremely disappointing and disheartening. Tearing down a Black-owned business is the last thing I want to do, especially in our community, but this experience was too serious to ignore.

Today, I had the pleasure of stopping by Bamba Cuisine, a vibrant gem in Atlanta that promises a taste of Africa. The moment I stepped outside, a tantalizing aroma drew me in—an irresistible blend of spices and grilled meats that made my mouth water. Curiosity piqued, I walked in, and what I experienced was nothing short of extraordinary. Though this was my first time diving into African-inspired cuisine, the warmth of the atmosphere and the authenticity of the flavors instantly transported me to the bustling streets of East Africa. The highlight? The dibi, a traditional Somali skewer of marinated goat meat grilled to perfection. Tender, juicy, and bursting with smoky, savory notes, it was both hearty and flavorful—a meal that satisfied every craving. Coming from Miami, where food scenes lean more toward Caribbean or Latin American, this was a revelation. Whether you’re a local or just visiting Atlanta, Bamba Cuisine is a must-try. It’s a celebration of culture, community, and the universal love of good food. Don’t miss it!

I had to change my review from 5 stars to 1 star after my experience today. I ordered fish with jollof rice, and by the time I got home and opened the food, it was completely cold. The fish was extremely dried out, and the only things that were even slightly warm were the carrots and cabbage.

What made this experience worse was the service. I called back to speak with the manager to let them know about the issue, and instead of trying to help or resolve it, he was rude and dismissive.

I have been coming to this restaurant for years and have referred many people here, so this was extremely disappointing. Loyal customers should not be treated this way, especially when bringing a legitimate concern to management.

“I’m from Houston and listen — when I say this food was AMAZING, I mean that. I stopped by this Senegalese restaurant because everyone kept recommending it, and now I see why. The flavors were deep, comforting, and unforgettable. Everything tasted fresh and authentic. This is not just food, it’s an experience. If you’re in the area, do not skip this place.”

The food is delicious, the jambalaya is the best!!!! The rice is full of favor and the lamb is cooked to perfection. The disk is lamb and rice with scotch pepper with an onion gravy on top!!! I eat there every Friday. The dish cost around $22. Great customer service and friendly people. I love the food and the veggies plates is excellent too!!!

One of my favorite African restaurants to go to. The food is good and get really good portions as well. I love the customer service as well. They are always very polite and make sure that you are satisfied with your service every time you come. The pricing is also very affordable for the food you receive. I will continue to be a long time customer bcuz they are absolutely worth the drive to visit.

I rarely leave reviews, but this experience needs to be shared.

I’ve ordered from Bamba Cuisine many times including large orders as well and I’ve even referred friends who now order regularly based on my recommendation. Because of that, this recent experience was extremely disappointing.

I called to place a pickup order of 3 plates and wanted clarification on the restaurant’s in-store pricing. While I understand that delivery platforms like Uber Eats may reflect slightly higher prices due to service fees, the restaurant’s website does not clearly reflect current pricing. For that reason, I called directly to confirm the total before placing my order. While on the phone, the person taking my order continuously talked over me and was speaking to someone else at the same time. I had to repeat myself multiple times.

After confirming prices during my first call, I called back to finalize the order. When I asked for the total amount, he became irritated, raised his voice at me, and said, “Why do you keep asking how much it is? If you want to order, order. I’m busy.” I was also told I was “disturbing” him and that I should just use Uber Eats instead.

It is COMPLETELY normal to want pricing clarification as a customer, I am not expected to know in store menu prices off the top of my head, especially when there are discrepancies online and a non-proper website! Customers should not be made to feel like an inconvenience for asking basic questions. Any internal business or website inconsistencies should not be taken out on customers who are simply trying to place an order.

There was a clear lack of professionalism, orderliness, and consideration in how this situation was handled. As someone who has supported and referred business to this restaurant, I found this unacceptable.

Unfortunately, after this experience, I will not be returning.

Food was VERY delicious and well seasoned. We tried the WHOLE RED SNAPPER, the spices used were good and I liked the mustard onions, peppers and the side of hot sauce. The plantains were soft and sweet and went great with the savory sauces from the fish. Probably some of the best plantains I’ve ever had.
I also tried the OKRA SOUP, It was amazing. Loved the fish pieces in it! To note the okra soup did have some stringy pieces in it, but it also has fish bones so I wasn’t too bothered.
Lastly we tried the LAMB JALLOF RICE, the rice was moist and tasted very good with the gaminess of the lamb. The lamb was a bit dry but this was easily overlooked by how good everything was. The random vegetables in this dish were happy surprises as well.
