Update February 7th: I have been here several times and tried different foods. They never disappointed me. They were so delicious. The owner and her staff were always friendly and polite.

OMG — I’ve never had a Reuben sandwich this good until I stopped by Ballywhack Shack Cafe. It was so delicious that I finished the entire sandwich and still wanted more. Their latte was rich and flavorful, easily better than what I’ve had at Starbucks.

The cafe itself is small but cozy, with simple, warm design and charming retro decor. I truly enjoyed savoring my sandwich and coffee while taking in the atmosphere, both inside and outside the restaurant.

Last but not least, the customer service was outstanding. It’s rare to find true Southern hospitality in Northern Virginia, which makes this place a real unicorn. Every staff member was friendly, polite, and incredibly patient.

This is my go to coffee spot and you really can’t beat the price. Even when I add oat milk to my lattes my total is usually around $5.50- much cheaper than most coffee shops in the area. I love the brown butter toffee and the blueberry cobbler lattes. Some of the workers definitely make the lattes better than others- on a one off occasion my latte tasted like nothing as if they didn’t put any of the flavored syrups in. Their strawberry lemonade is also very good! In terms of sandwiches, I love the chunky dunk and my boyfriend is a big fan of the club sub- even claiming it’s the best sandwich he’s ever had. Ive been coming to this spot since they were a little shack down the street- I love it!

The bakery has a lot to choose from. Cake, pies, tarts, muffins, and rolls. What an awesome treat to visit and pick up sweets. However I did not see any soft cookies… They were all chewy.

Had the prickly pear lemonade. Perfect blend of tart and sweet. Had Bacon me crazy sandwich with good amount bacon and great sauce. Also had Horse’n round sandwich with generous amount of roast beef. Love this place. Everything was very good and high quality ingredients.

The service was pretty quick and the servers are pretty helpful. I ordered a cappuccino and a latte. The server suggested to add tiramisu syrup to the lattte and guess what it tasted amazingly. So, yes that’s my recommendation! We hardly spent 3-4 min here as a pit stop for coffee on our way. Highly recommend it. Also, they have plenty of parking and a cute little single restroom.

Absolutely delicious grilled portobello sandwich! Delightful soup and sandwich place. Love that any sandwich can be converted to a salad (but honestly that soft toasted whole wheat bread was divine)
Reusable dishes are expensive but glasses and washable silverware would make this place perfect.

I REALLY wanted to like this, as it’s a local business. But they got my order wrong, adding sausage and bacon instead of double bacon. And neither my wife nor I could taste the coffee, even with an extra shot. It just tasted like lightly flavoured milk. We plan to give this place another shot for lunch one of these days though.

Today I had the best Cappuchino in a very long time. Their Ham-Gouda-Pecan sandwich was delicious. They were already great as a Food Stand. Now they are EXCELLENT. A gem for all of us neighbors.

I ordered a chili dog…. 30 minutes later I’m still waiting for it. It took 20 minutes to get drinks. Not in line, 20 minutes from when it was ordered and there’s 7 other people here.

My wife ordered a “hogan’s hero” with gluten free bread and the guy said “so uh is that an allergy or just a preference?” Cmon man…. Terrible.
