My husband and I just moved to NC and were looking for a good, old-fashioned diner-style restaurant to frequent. We found Ball’s Grill on google and decided to check it out. Best decision we could’ve made today! Definitely the old-fashioned, home-grown feel we were looking for. The staff was super friendly and welcoming! Checked in on us “1st Timers”, made sure the food was good and we had everything we needed. We were very pleased with the taste of the food, the large quantities for an awesome price, and the quickness with which we were served. Ball’s Grill has a good thing going! Thanks for having us!

I would give 0 stars if I could. There was no cheese in my grits as ordered, we didn’t like the food because it was bland tasting, asked for a refund and was refused a refund. I called ahead to ask if I could switch to a lunch meal and got silence, no response, and ultimately hung up on. We went in to take food back and was refused refund. NEVER will I ever order anything at this place again!!! Enjoy that free money because you’ll never see another dime of mine!!

This place is a legendary cornerstone of the south gastonia culture if u wana know how it was done from the 50s til now u will instantly walk in and wish ur grandpaw was still alive to eat one more liver mush egg and cheese but that isnt reality but then when u step back into reality u and ur son are eating a small town culinary masterpiece and are instantly enthralled in the atmosphere and have done spent 45 mins looking at all the pictures of families thru time that are literally made on the table top then u realise oh wow the service and people are the most down home hospitable people especially the ladies and bo so please at least, once come here and have this staple of southern living!

Y’all ever seen the little diner on TV where the food is delicious, everyone knows everyone and the old guys sit around gossiping? Now you can experience it for yourself. In Gastonia there are 2 Ball’s Grills that I’ve visited and believe me this is the only one you want to go to. I work 3rd shift and I can have a juicy cheeseburger (and crinkle cut fries) and still get my other people breakfast. My son raves about the Livermush which I was told comes fresh from S.C and is very tasty. I’ve only had Cheeseburgers (so far) and they have been delicious both days. I went yesterday and then again this morning to see if yesterday’s awesome food was just a happy accident but it was great again today. Don’t believe me, go see for yourself.

I ordered a gravey biscuit, but they called back to tell me they were out of biscuits. So I went with toast and hash browns. It was about 11:15, so I’m assuming breakfast was almost over. I got some burnt fries instead of hash browns. Idk if that was a substitute, but I wouldn’t have minded the fries if they weren’t burnt. I’ll stick to bologna, egg, and cheese on toast from now on.
