Overall the food was good but it was a bit crowded inside. For the food, we ordered the large pizza and it’s huge. Such a good deal. It was the works pizza and it was really good. The crust is very thin and was nice and crispy. I took off a star because we also ordered meatballs for an appetizer and they weren’t very impressive. Kinda bland honestly. The atmosphere had a lot going on as the tables are very close to each other in the dining room. Which also makes it very loud inside. I would order pizza again but probably won’t go in and sit down.

I strongly recommend this restaurant if you want a traditional Italian old school restaurant. IT’s everything I knew growing up. The eggplant fries are a must. My hubs doesn’t like eggplant and he ate half the bowl! Thin crust free form pizza the large is about 12”x24”. It’s about 15 minutes from MKE airport so we hit it on our way out. Mongia!

The atmosphere is “old Italian”, reminiscent of the mobster movies. We were a table of 4, no wait at 4pm on a Saturday but the dining room quickly filled by 5. We were promptly waited on and our large pizza took about 25 minutes. I started with a Caeser salad which I HIGHLY recommend, it was delicious! The pizza has a wafer thin crust and toppings are well proportioned. I personally like a little more sauce but that may compromise the crust.

We finally made our way back to Balisteri’s as it has been around a decade since our last visit since we don’t live in Milwaukee. Nothing has changed. Same tasty food and same vibe as I remembered. We had a half order of eggplant as I remembered the whole order being pretty massive. The pizza was the highlight though…The sausage is top notch. I plan on visiting again when in Milwaukee.

Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. The pizza was ok (for American standards). However, I ordered an “Antipasto” which, at an Italian restaurant is supposed to consist of a variety of cheese and salami or prosciutto. It turned out to be a Greek salad, made of lettuce and Feta and black olives. Beneath the salad I found thin slices of American cheese and salami, but no more than 10 % of the dish. They should really change the name: this has nothing to do with Antipasto. It’s a salad

No frills, classic Italian American restaurant. Everything you’d expect on the menu and it’s done well. The fried eggplant is especially a treat. Cozy atmosphere adds to the experience. Always a good choice.

My buddy grew up eating dinner here and he’s been itching to eat here again. So we drove up and had a large pizza and ring calamari. Everything was AMAZING! Service was fast and the food was delicious. The place looks exactly like it did when he was a child. I believe the sign of a good pizza place is paper to go bags. I haven’t seen that in so long. Highly recommend the food and the wine!
