BALEEN Kitchen in Sunny Isles is a fantastic spot with attentive staff and a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere. The evening lighting sets a calm mood, and the ocean view is stunning.

We went for happy hour, which runs every day from 5 to 7, and ended up staying for dinner with no regrets. The spicy tuna taco was unforgettable—extremely fresh and some of the best quality tuna I’ve had. The chicken wings (well done) and truffle fries were phenomenal, and the cocktails were excellent. For dinner, the shrimp pasta was simple yet flavorful—no complaints at all.

Special shoutout to Felix, the manager, and Daniel, our waiter—they were phenomenal, along with the rest of the staff, making the experience even better. Overall, BALEEN Kitchen is a must-visit for great food, amazing happy hour specials, and beautiful ocean views.

The service and the atmosphere was great. However, the food isn’t. We wanted to eat seafood with a beach view and we were extremely disappointed. The paella didn’t have clams, very incomplete paella, and very small too for $40. It didn’t come in a bowl as a traditional paella usually does. The fried calamari and octopus with zucchini were so rubbery. The margharita pizza is something we can achieve at home – nothing special. The only good thing was the polenta and shrimp. Very overpriced for what we got.

If you’re looking for a relaxing moment on a stressful weekday, there’s nothing better than a good time for happy hour, One of my best recommendations is a super nice place with the best bartender Ivana and the best service . Their cocktails are exquisite that bring you down to total relaxation while contemplating the ocean or at the bar enjoying delicious snacks. For the price, don’t worry, I haven’t seen anything better in terms of price and quality. Don’t miss out on going to Baleen Kitchen located in Sunny Isle Beach, Miami Sole Hotel. Valet parking is free. Happy Hour 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. HHH.

Came to celebrate Thanksgiving with 2 Friends. We all ordered from prefix menu. The food was mediocre and unbelievably rich and salty. All of us couldn’t finish and ended up with a stomachache probably due to excessive amounts of cream and butter in pumpkin soup and turkey gravy. It was super overpriced for no reason. The server was very nice and the place has a nice feel to it, just not the food.

This will be the second time we have dined at this restaurant. First time was amazing and was our favorite. Second time, we won’t go back.
Service definitely not the issue. We had the same waiter both times and he is amazing. Issue must be management and chef. The menu has really changed with less choices and less quality.
Prices went through the roof. We were there for 5 nights and picked a fine dining option every evening. Baleen was our least favorite and most expensive this trip.
It’s fairly difficult to find. It’s inside Sole Miami resort.

Dined there for breakfast. Met Kenny and another female employee (my apologies, I forgot her name) both gave good service. Being on a empty stomach, I ordered Eggs Benedict with cranberry juice. Sadly it wasn’t good, the English muffins were not fully toasted. And the Poached Eggs needed one more minute. You have a good looking establishment, but please pay more attention to detail when it comes to food. I had dine next door at Vue Bristo+Terrace Bar. We went for the key lime pie, but I loved everything my partners and I ordered. It was also a really nice, classy, chill atmosphere.

We did have a little trouble finding it since we weren’t staying at the hotel and parked down the street, but other than that, would recommend. If nothing else, go grab a slice of their key lime pie!

Beautiful venue, welcoming service, overpriced mediocre food. Small dinner menu. I had fish and chips- Mediocre fries and overcooked fish with burned tempura coating. Husband had roast chicken. Overcooked, dry, burned. Good mashed potatoes. Very expensive for such poor quality. Not crowded when we were there,7:30 on a Wednesday. Too bad about the food.

I called letting the staff know I will arrive late. They helped me out, gratitude you have my thanks. Daniel told me of the specials of the night. However I ordered Steak Frites and Key Lime pie. Good background music and atmosphere too. Love the American Flag logo over the bar, its awesome. DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT TO EAT. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES. YOU WILL BE EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. There are a thousand better options.

My wife and I went to Baleen Kitchen for Valentine’s Day and it was a complete disaster — especially considering we drove over an hour to get there.

The day before, I tried to make a reservation online and it didn’t work. I called, spoke with a young woman, gave her my information and email, and she confirmed a 9:00 PM reservation.

We arrived at 8:45 PM and the hostess (wearing glasses) told us there was no reservation under my name. There was no real apology and no accountability — she simply said it didn’t exist in the system. She also told us there were no tables available inside, even though we could clearly see several empty ones. The only option offered was to sit outside.

It was windy and cold outside (the restaurant is on the beach inside a resort), which made the experience uncomfortable. A Valentine’s dinner should have atmosphere — and there was none.

The waitress made the interaction a bit awkward from the start. We ordered a gin and a margarita; the drinks were fine, but nothing extraordinary.

The menu was extremely limited. On top of that, they offered a special Valentine’s menu for $150 per person, which felt excessive for what was included. We ended up going inside and sitting at the bar. We ordered a basic tomato and mozzarella pizza, completely average and not memorable at all.

The worst part was that they automatically added a 20% gratuity, despite the poor service and the reservation issue.

The only positive things we can mention were the valet parking, which is complimentary if you dine at the restaurant, and the bartender, who was very sweet and helpful. That was the best part of the entire experience.

Between the lost reservation, lack of professionalism, limited menu, mandatory gratuity, and total lack of atmosphere, it was a huge disappointment — especially for a special occasion.

Management seriously needs to improve. For the price and location, the experience should be much better.

We will not be returning.
