Barely made it before the happy hour ended, so I got a discounted beer. The IPA that isn’t on the list was good. The atmosphere is nice. The waitress that we had was amazing, even with it being a fairly busy Friday evening. I had the Cheesesteak and my SO had the fried chicken that was on special. We were both impressed with the flavor and quality of the food. We will be eating here again.

Great service. It wasn’t very busy on a Saturday at 6 pm, that should have been my first clue. We were seated right away, chose an outside table, nothing to get excited about. Our server was prompt, friendly and answered all our questions. A couple of us were looking at items with brisket and she informed us that they weren’t serving that at the restaurant anymore. We had fried pickles, it was a large order, hot and tasted fine. Pretzel bites, they were good. 2 of us ended up with fish and chips. Yuck, the breading was thick, didn’t care for the seasoning. The fries, I mean the “Famous Fries” were not fresh and soggy. Are the fries famous for the pour quality? Tots were crispy, burgers were good. 1st time and last time to visit Baldwin City Beer Co.

I got one each of the street tacos. The brisket one was super chewy and I couldn’t even eat it. The chicken one had really no flavor and was dry. Now the pulled pork one was on point. I will definitely go back for the pulled pork tacos.

Super bummed about this one. This was our 3rd time here and have had a good amount of their beers. On this last visit, we ordered the honey wheat and berry weiss. We made a comment to the person serving us that both of our beers tasted strongly of plastic. There were no other discernible flavors. Our server apologized, said my beer was the last of the keg and offered that as a possibility for the off taste but wasn’t sure why our other beer would taste off. Our server was extremely gaslighty, suggesting that we just have to try enough beers to find something we like. They were otherwise kind so I attempted to politely let them know that i am a big beer drinker and know for a fact there’s something wrong with these beers. They offered to take our beers off our bill so we tried something else. They removed my wife’s drink from the table but left mine. I tried the pops porter and my wife got the shandy I believe. These drinks were ok. My porter, however, was not served in a beer glass which I thought was strange. I understand that the porters are served in smaller glasses due to the alcohol content, but I was still expecting a beer glass.
We ordered a dip that was described on the menu as coming with chips and bread but we didn’t receive any bread. Also, the dip was cold. At this point, we felt like we’d complained enough so we just finished our dip and drinks and paid. When we received our bill, I noticed that only one of the off tasting beers had been taken off the tab. The one that was never taken away from our table wasn’t taken off. Then it kind of made sense that perhaps our server just forgot about it but still kind of strange that they forgot? Again, in the spirit of not trying to be a complainer, I went ahead and just drank the beer. It was terrible but hey, I was young once and forced to drink steel reserves to get a buzz.
I asked if they had stickers that I could purchase. Didn’t receive a sticker. Didn’t get charged for one either so I guess that’s a plus. There was also a service charge included on our bill.
I’m super disappointed. I understand that things happen, and I can be a very forgiving customer, but it was just so many issues with our beer, food, service and dismissiveness around the off flavored beers, and the cherry on top with the service fee (separate from the tip).

Service was very slow, and when the food came out my chicken was way overcooked and none of our salads had the correct dressing. When we got the bill we had extra charges for extra dressing for the original dressing we had ordered. I made a note of it to the staff and Shift Lead who gave no feedback as to how it was going to be handled, very awkward customer service. Will not be returning.

First of the beer. I thought the selection was pretty small for a brewery, but they are still fairly new so not a big deal.
Their west coast IPA I thought it was just okay, nothing that you can’t get anywhere else. I also tried the cornucopia- berry weiss and I have to say that I did enjoy that one!
Brussels sprouts appetizer was good, cooked well and the sauce on them was alright. Sadly, that’s where the recommendations end. I ordered the Cuban sandwich (pictured) to say ir was bad it’s an understatement, it didn’t tasted like anything, what looks like cubed potatoes is actually the pork, only had one whole pickle spear in the middle of the sandwich and it wasn’t even pressed.
Other people in my table had the cheesesteak sandwich and although I didn’t tried it didn’t looked good, with only 2 slices of white american(or similar) that wasn’t even melted.
Food quality seemed very poor overall, wich is a shame considering how good the place itself actually looks and that beer wasn’t bad.

Just tried this place. Lots of space and room to grow here!
We tried the IPA, a Honey Wheat, and the loaded tots (pictured). All were good, and the tots were excellent, mainly because I love the green chili on top and the crispiness of the tots.
Excited to come back and try more food and beers as their beer menu expands.

My experience at this brewery was decent. The onion rings were crispy and seemed freshly battered. The hand-formed burgers were well-seasoned and looked appealing. The tater tots and French fries served as great sides. I tried their Pale Ale, which was okay but not particularly memorable. The atmosphere was somewhat lacking in character, but the outdoor seating area was the star of the show.

We visited for a celebration of life. The food was great and the drinks were great as well. I felt the backroom didn’t handle sound very well and was kinda warm. We live a bit far to visit frequently, but if I’m ever in the area again I would definitely come back.

A small town place with killer vibes and freindly staff. Baldwin City is a gem of a place with great locals, this is where they meet, drink and eat.
