I ordered delivery from them before and it was delicious and there was great portion sizes. Tonight it was like they dropped the ball I don’t understand what happened. I got takeout I ordered with my dad and then went to the bathroom there was no toilet paper. I told the worker who then went into the bathroom or the back room then came back to the register and didn’t stock toilet paper. We wait about 20 minutes and get our food and I thought that was the end of it but no. I get home and we got the wrong order. They had the opposite labeling and mine had mayo and ketchup which i didn’t order. Really disappointed.

My only complaint about this place is the parking. The lot is not big enough for all the businesses, which the business has no control over. We got a spot on the street right out front.
Partner loved the Champ steak, stating it was one of the best he’s had. Decent 12″ portion stuffed with a creamy blend of cheese and meat mixed with mushrooms, onions and hots.
I got the Nashville Hot Chicken and could only eat half (yeah left overs!) and the bread was perfect. Excellent crust with the right chew. The chicken was not over the top hot but well seasoned and balanced.
Well definitely come again.

Unbelievably excellent. The quality of the food was great. My husband and I shared a cheesesteak and they only have 1 size which is 12 inches. It is more than enough for 2 people. Loaded with high quality meat, sharp cheese and excellent fried onions. The guy who served us and cooked today was so personable and friendly too. I highly recommend this restaurant for a cheesesteak if you are in Newark. The seeded roll was perfect.

Stopped by Balboa Steaks in Newark and was immediately greeted by a friendly young man at the counter—possibly the owner. That kind of warm welcome makes a great first impression. I ordered the sandwich called The Balboa, and it did not disappoint. Flavorful, hearty, and made with care. You can tell they take pride in what they serve. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area and craving a great cheesesteak!!

Firstly the service here was great. The Store Manager Kyle was incredibly nice and willing to answer any questions we had. The food came out quickly and was good. I recommend the cheesesteak fries, which were really good. The only issue I have with this place is that it is a little pricey.

We really, really wanted to love this place. It’s so close to home and way closer than my favorite cheesesteak ever but this didn’t live up to the hype of the reviews. The sandwich was a nice length but not much meat in the roll for how much it was ($15.50) and there really wasn’t much flavor at all. It was creamy from the cheese but I couldn’t taste the cheese really. It was a bland meaty taste. They don’t offer lettuce so I added some at home and that didn’t really help either. Asked for fried onions and couldn’t taste those either.
Also, the fries. The fries looked great, nice and thick and different than I see everywhere but when we got them they were cold. Not a bit of warmth to them at all. They were ate because we were hungry but I wouldn’t order them again.
Overall we probably won’t be back and that’s super disappointing.

We had a great experience at Balboa’s. We were greeted immediately and given great customer service. The food was made fresh in front of us, and it was delicious! Definitely recommend Balboa’s!
