We had a beautiful experience at Balboa, the atmosphere was stunning and the food had absolutely amazing taste. The quick and friendly service definitely added to the great night. Our server Ava was the best!
Our starter of the burrata and focaccia was delicious, wouldn’t have gotten anything else for our first time here. For mains we got the chestnut gnocchi and tagliatelle, the tagliatelle stood out with the tasty prawns. The gnocchi was yum but very filling so keep that in mind!
We’d love to be back next time we’re in the area!

Well put together with interesting highlights – vespa scooter, wood fired oven, temperature controlled wine, sit up bar.
We came with several dietary restrictions & I’d been particularly unwell for several days before our dinner – the wait & kitchen staff did an incredible job at catering to our needs for which we are very grateful.
Carefully considered and thought out menu, of local and Italian ingredients. Don’t come here to eat in a rush, it will disappoint. This restaurant and menu are all about the experience. The bar tenders are true craftsmen and we enjoyed being seated at a table where we could watch their mixology. The meals were beautifully cooked and presented and the staff were helpful and attentive.
Dining for one to large groups, indoor, outdoor & private (wheelchair access).
Onsite restrooms. Parking on local streets.

Our experience was next level. The vibe created a transportation to a village in Italy. The food was exceptional. I appreciated the availability of gluten free and soy free food so I could enjoy the meal. It was tantalising with an effect on the palate that carried you through hours later. Everything ordered was full of flavour and cooked perfectly. The seafood marinara and honey carrots were incredible. We have told everyone about Balboa and can not wait to dine there again. Keep up the amazing work and hold onto the awesome staff you have. The Chefs were incredible and lovely to speak to and Sophia was informative, knowledgeable and very efficient in her work. The entire experience was one we will be speaking of until our next visit. Thank you to all.

Service was excellent. Cocktails were amazing. Food was excellent, the pizza was delicious the gnocchi was to die for and the fish of the day was 10/10.

If you’re looking for the complete Italian dining experience, this is the place to go. The interior is absolutely gorgeous, with a perfect blend of rustic charm and modern elegance that creates the coziest and most welcoming vibe. Every detail, from the decor to the lighting, made the atmosphere feel incredibly special.
The food was the highlight, and it was simply the best. Each dish was crafted with an authentic touch and a deep understanding of flavor. The ingredients tasted so fresh, and the execution was flawless, making every bite a true delight. It’s clear the chefs put their heart into every plate they create.

Beautiful handmade Italian food. As a gluten intolerant person I can hands down say that it was the best Gluten free pizza and pasta I’ve had. The GF focaccia is also delicious. Our whole party thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the staff are all very friendly and attentive. Gold coast has quickly become the elite place to dine for gluten free fair.

We celebrated my daughter’s 21st birthday with 20 guests on Thursday 8th January and it was absolutely amazing. The Banquet selected was delicious and the extra effort to cater for our friends with special dietary requirements was really appreciated. All our guests loved Balboa Italian. Millie was our hostess and she was amazing as are all the staff. Highly recommend Balboa Italian for food, drinks (including cocktails) and a sense of being in Italy. We will be back every time we are in Burleigh Heads/Palm Beach. Thank you for making Maddie’s birthday so incredible.

Great experience overall at Balboa Restaurant. The arancini and pizza were amazing – definitely the highlights of the meal.
The gnocchi were unfortunately very floury, which was a bit disappointing, although still okay to eat. The baked gnocchi were much better and tasted well balanced.
What really surprised me was the service. When making the reservation, I noted that it was a special occasion. Our waitress later asked if we were celebrating something, so I explained that my mum is leaving Australia and my partner is celebrating his birthday. The reaction felt a bit odd – the waitress simply said “bye” to my mum, which came across as quite rude.
I was also expecting at least a small treat or gesture after mentioning the occasion. Not that I insist on it, but it’s usually a nice touch for special moments. Instead, nothing happened, which made it feel like the note about the special occasion wasn’t really taken into consideration.
Food-wise we enjoyed most of the meal, but the service in that moment left a strange impression.

Delicious menu with lots of tempting options. It’s hard to choose! The staff are really friendly and take their time to give you the best recommendations.
The place is cosy and beautifully decorated. I recommend making a booking because it gets busy.
