Nice Latin bakery. Their pastries tend to be on the very very sweet side
Coffee con leche was fine but had too much milk when compared to Cuban ones. Overall, I recommend the coffee with special instructions

A very reasonable and delicious. The coffee and Leche was perfect strong flavored with just amount of right amount of sweetness and milk. The breakfast Cuban was heavy, pork was moist flavorful.

First visit to this bakery, so I didn’t know what to expect. I came in two days ahead to place an order, and they said they didn’t have time to make a couple of the things I asked for. I agreed with what the staff member suggested: guava, coco, and carne pastries. I even asked what specific carne it was, and they said “ground beef”. When I picked up the order, I even asked again for confirmation of if the carne needed to stay warm, and the staff member said “no”. When I opened up the package and took a bite, it definitely wasn’t carne, but queso.

Not sure if they weren’t able to make the carne, or if it was just a mix up. They could’ve called me and said they couldn’t do carne and I would’ve understood. And this what the staff suggested I ordered.

The guava and coco pastries were very delicious, and those that I shared them with enjoyed them. Very flaky, buttery, and not too sweet. Just the execution of the order was a little off. I thought the value was okay, you got a lot of pastries for the amount paid, maybe twice what you would pay at a large supermarket. These pastries seemed more authentic though, so it was okay.

The food is 11 out of 10 so far! Only place I found locally that truly fresh squeezes the orange juice in front of you and there is nothing more truly energizing in the morning

Service is always good, but not spectacular in the atmosphere is clean and safe, but the neighborhood isn’t the best and it’s certainly not slick or totally modern.

Patries are amazing and fresh. Pastelilos are delicious. I had their Cuban Sandwich which was phenomenal, the best ever. Omg, I added jalapenos to my Cuban and it was so tasty, with or without jalapenos. There’s nothing like a fresh Cuban sandwich.

Not bad. The desserts were a bit rich for our tastes but they were well made. I had a pastrami sandwich which was decent though the meat was really thin & tough from being over cooked. Maybe that was the style for that sandwich? I would have preferred meat that was more tender.

There was a bit of a language barrier. The gentleman behind the counter had a very thick accent & it was really hot in there, so ate out in our car.

Awesome little shop. Great food and some nice surprises. You have to try the Cuban empanada. For a spicy treat also try the steak empanada. Will definitely be going back soon. Enjoy!

I can’t recommend this place enough!!! This is a totally authentic Cuban bakery/cafe. All the breads and pastries are delicious. The cuban sandwich is amazing and served on their delicious fresh baked Cuban bread. There are so many different empanada fillings to choose from and the empanada dough is light with perfectly crispy edges. The colada coffee is also delicious. Oh, and they have fresh squeezed orange juice! Try Bakery Makel, I promise you will love it!!!

First time stop and wanted to try the bakery. Selected this cake and….voila! Lady behind the cashier didn’t know the price so a guy stepped in and charged $5.75 for 4 inch so-so cake.

Indeed, there are shady prices—prices should be at each cakes pan and not somewhere hard to see and identify.

Not coming there and saw that someone else had the same shady pricing. Not good for the business.

Being that it is not run by Cubans, the bakery lacks many Cuban pastries and typical Cuban bakery would have. That said, we tried the Cuban sandwich, pastel de guayaba, and café con leche. The Cuban sandwich was not a Cuban sandwich and lacked the taste. The café con leche was horrible, but the one thing they excelled in was the pastel de guayaba. Quite possibly the best ones I’ve had in years. The guy at the front was nice and helpful. They didn’t have Cuban bread in the morning, something that a Cuban bakery should have as well. Price was a bit high and not worth it for what I ordered. It’s a very small place with limited space but it was clean.
