I stumbled upon this charming little bakery today and had an experience that truly warmed my heart. ❤️ They operate on a cash-only basis, and when I found myself without cash, the owner, with a genuine smile, told me not to worry and to simply pay on my next visit! As if that wasn’t kind enough, when I mentioned it was my very first time there, she surprised me with a complimentary loaf of hot, freshly baked bread. I was absolutely blown away by her generosity and trust. This is the kind of local business that deserves all the support. You have to visit!

I just want to share an experience that I’ve had twice now at a local business. Not to put them on blast or tell anyone to stop going there because they have great product, just to kind of put out there that you should count your change when dealing with a certain employee especially if you send your kids in.
My kids and I love DVs bakery, we just eat the warm bread in the car when we run errands. My oldest daughter asks if she can run in sometimes so that I don’t have to get the baby out of the car. The man who is there has short changed my ten year old twice now. The first time I had given her a $10. The bread is $3.75. When she was walking out the door, another customer stopped her and said “he didn’t give you the right change” and the man said “sorry I thought it was a five.” Today I sent her in with 5 one dollar bills because i was going to tell her to keep the change as a tip and she came out with just a quarter. She went back in to tell him she gave him $5 and he got nasty with her and yelled that she was wrong.
I’m just so disappointed at this experience. Been going there since I was a child with my own mom. I am a front end manager and when an employee short changes a customer but we cant confirm it right away we take their phone number and call them after we balance the drawers at close. It’s just a dollar but I am so sad that it seems intentional and that he treated my daughter poorly.

Give this place a try, they do not disappoint, but make sure you bring cash, no credit cards accepted here! We love their eclairs, which are huge and full of cream, the cakes are great too. Any of the baked breads are always fresh and sometimes still warm, they also have pepperoni and garlic bread options. This is our favorite bakery, we love everything they make!

Been going here for all of my adult years and my family before me has gone for many years as well. French bread pizza is amazing. Please save some for me. The eclairs are massive and taste like Angel’s came to put the finishing touch on them. Cannolis never disappoint either. You want to meet nice authentic people behind the counter? This is one of the last places in Rochester that has this.

Hands down, the best bread in Rochester. I’ve been coming here for many many many many years. As far back as I can remember and I’m 59 lol. I only wish they were closer to where I live now lol. But I still make the trip from Leicester, New York all the way to Irondequoit to get their bread.

Everything here is great, but the eclairs are the best in Rochester by far. They’re huge! You can easily share one between two people and still be full. The chocolate topping is chocolatey, the filling super and the pastry perfect.

I have passed this place many times. It’s a quaint, old school Italian bakery and today I had a few extra minutes so I stopped in. The nicest lady on the planet helped me pick cannoli and bread. I neglected to bring cash, and she entrusted me to return and pay. I returned today to settle up, but I will return again and tell all my friends. Delicious, fresh cannoli, and warm, soft chewy bread. The best part? The pepperoni stuffed garlic bread omg

The soft rolls are great….. they’re not a heavy bulky bread so are perfect for a party and large selection of food. You don’t get filled up on the bread plus they taste delicious. Owner is who waits on you and always friendly and attentive. Oh their kuchens, Danish & eclairs are excellent.

During a homily, our priest mentioned a “bakery in Portland Avenue” with incredible bread. After a little work on Google, I realized he was talking about Di Vincenzo Bakery, just north of Ridge.

We stopped by and bought a couple loaves of Italian bread, canolis and eclairs. The owner also threw in a free package of rolls since it was our first time there!

WOW. This is indeed the best bread we’ve had in Rochester. Soft, chewy…absolutely delicious. Di Vincenzo has become our go-to for Italian and French bread, and Italian treats. Can’t believe we’ve never tried this place before.

Just make sure to bring cash, because they don’t take credit cards.
