We did the igloo experience on Saturday, December 7, 2025. Here are out thoughts:
The Good: The service was, as always, fantastic. The food my husband ate (the Space Station Trio at $54) was delicious. He also enjoyed his cocktails: Crimson Moonfall ($16) and Event Horizon Espresso ($18). The igloo was plenty warm. There are large heaters outside of the igloos and space heaters inside. Neither one of us took off our sweaters or puffy vests, but we were plenty comfortable.
The Bad: There is nothing on the menu, food or cocktail, that is vegan friendly. So we bought in for a $100 minimum on a menu I could not eat from (vegan for medical reasons; literally could not). It’s bananas to me that in 2025 in an urban area a restaurant menu exists that doesn’t have at least substitutions for dietary needs if not actual menu items. When I mentioned this to the server, the chef “agreed to” fix me shishito peppers and they were the worst ones I’ve ever eaten (soggy). The bartender did make me a fantastic mojito. Before I talked to the server about the cocktails, I made do by ordering a mocktail off the regular menu and asked for it to be spiked. Enormous mistake. They not only charged me for the mocktail, but charged an additional $15 for a vodka shot. And it tasted like water. And if you’re a vegan or have dairy issues, notice that the cocktails are full of cream. Finally, the chairs aren’t great, which seems like quibbling, but an hour and a half in them (the time you get when you reserve an igloo) wasn’t comfortable.
I always recommend this bar, but I cannot recommend the igloo experience.

It was not the best experience overall. From the moment we stepped into the hotel lobby to take the elevator up we were very put off. There were front desk staff members basically shouting at us that the rooftop bar is at capacity and don’t bother going up… so we took their word for it. We were meeting friends so we decided to wait for people to come down before going up. Once several people came down we attempted again, just to be told the same thing almost like it was their way of deterring people from visiting. When I questioned, I was told “well you can try it.” So we took the elevator up and we were immediately let in the bar without a problem. Once we entered, we noticed the bar was mostly empty and nowhere near capacity.
FYI there is no drink menu to order drinks from. When we asked the bartender about specialty cocktails or for any recommendations, we got a few generic and easy to make recommendations like a “Manhattan” or “Whiskey Sour.” Trying to make small talk, we asked how their night was going and we were told that they were all unhappy because some tip money went missing. We were a little caught off guard because this was not the response we were expecting but it definitely made sense because all the employees looked like they hated being there. We won’t be back anytime soon.
