Bakehouse is hands down one of the best bakeries in Frederick. Everything is incredibly fresh, beautifully made, and absolutely delicious. You can really taste the quality in their breads and pastries — flaky, buttery croissants, perfectly balanced sweets, and savory options that are just as impressive. Nothing feels mass-produced; it all tastes thoughtfully crafted and homemade.

They open early and close once they sell out, which says a lot about how popular they are. If you want the best selection, definitely plan to arrive right when they open. Be prepared for a long line — but don’t let that discourage you. The line moves fairly quickly, and the quality is 100% worth the wait.

The staff is friendly and efficient, even during busy times. Overall, an amazing local bakery that lives up to the hype. I’ll definitely be coming back again and again!

Bakehouse is a very cute bakery. The vibes in the shop itself are minimal, greenery, and great natural lighting. The baked goods are definitely worth the amount of time it will take to get them They also change seasonally have some pretty creative treats. The biggest downside is how popular this place is. I’ve been here twice now. The first time I went around 9:30/10 am ish and they were almost completely sold out. The second time I arrived around 8:20 and while there was still a long line, they still have plenty to choose from. Even though there are so many people, the staff takes their time with each customer in a very kind way. I’ve enjoyed both of my experiences here and think it is completely worth the wait.

I finally got to Bakehouse early enough to grab something before sellout, and wow, it was incredible!

The hype is real. Those long lines make sense now. Showing up right at open was perfect. Pastries fresh from the oven, super flaky and buttery. My croissant and morning bun were stupid good. I legit paused to savor every bite. Pure heaven.

Big portions, real ingredients, spot on sweetness. No wonder they sell out daily. Best bakery in Frederick hands down.

Go super early Thursday through Sunday, 8 to 2 or until gone. Worth it every time. If you love great pastries, this is a must. 10/10!

The ones with the red x are pastries that are good but not the time or the money. The ones with green check are worth every penny. The green check marked ones are, the everything croissant, croque monsieur, the cinnamon cream cheese strudel, the cinnamon morning bun. The ones that i would not recommend is the cranberry vanilla bean coffee cake, its a little dry and others pastries are much better, the regular croissant and the chocolate croissant are pretty basic nothing wow or special but they still tatse great.

I come almost every month to try the seasonal menus and I am always impressed!!!! The pastries are amazing and the owner + the ladies that work here are so kind. There have been a couple times where the owner will send my friends and I home with some freebies of the day (as if I needed another reason to love this place). I am a Frederick local and I am always so excited to send visitors to bakehouse because I think it is a perfect representation of the city I’m proud to live in; good food+ nice people!!!!

Wow you won’t be disappointed if you visit this bakery! Be sure to get there in the morning before they sell out of everything. Everything that I’ve tried has been delicious, and I especially love the homemade croissants and monkey bread (cinnamon pull apart).

Wow! What a place. So good! Super nice people behind the counter too.

Why a picture of the outside of a fantastic bakery? I’ll tell you.

I get up to go for a walk and we stayed close enough to Bakehouse that as soon as I stepped outside, I could smell the baking. It was glorious.

All of the baked goods here are as exceptional as advertised. The variety is incredible – I love the creative items introduced each month but also appreciate how they always have a number of classics. All items are generously sized. Many are rich and indulgent, so don’t be surprised when something like a “raspberry truffle cruffin” is over-the-top. Anyone submitting a negative review because the items are unhealthy came to the wrong place!
Customers should be aware of the potential for a line and for items to sell out. They clearly note the potential for sell outs on their pages, but it still seems to come as a surprise to some. There is often a line at opening, but it typically dies down as the initial rush is processed. It’ll often be busier on weekends than weekdays. If you go at 9 or 10 on Thu-Fri you’ll likely find the smallest lines with highest potential for all items to be available. If you show up after 10 or 11 on a weekend, there’s a good chance some of the most popular items will be sold out.
