Baked by the Dewey Post is an absolute gem in the heart of Dewey Beach! This charming little coffee bar serves up top-notch coffee—hot or iced—and has a great selection of smoothies and cold drinks too. Their pastries are fantastic, and the breakfast sandwiches, parfaits, and fruit cups make it a perfect stop for a quick and delicious morning bite.
They have some outdoor seating on the deck so whether you are just grabbing something to go or taking a seat to people watch and have a coffee, it’s a great spot.
What really sets this place apart though are the thoughtful extras: beautiful flower arrangements and unique, handcrafted greeting cards made by local artists. This is not the Baked Coffee Bar from years past. It’s under new ownership and has been completely revamped.
The owners are locals who also run The Dewey Post restaurant at the south end of town, so if you’re looking to sit down for a full breakfast or brunch, definitely check that out too. Whether you’re grabbing coffee to go or lingering with a smoothie and a scone, Baked by the Dewey Post is a must-visit in Dewey Beach!

The breakfast sandwiches!! SO GOOD! Highly recommend! Iced Coffee, pastries, some donuts. Wonder if you could buy the bagels in a big pack to go?? Dont know why it has a low rating, we were really impressed with the breakfast.

This place is so cute! The coffee was wonderful and not watered down, a perfect balance of the flavoring I ordered and espresso taste. I got an egg and cheese bagel and it was lovely, the bagel was crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, and had great flavor. Will definitely come back! 🙂

Came in here with friends on the way to the beach. We needed a quick breakfast and this was the perfect place for one. There are SO MANY options and I wanted all of them! If you want breakfast sandwiches, this place has them all. If you want pastries, coffee and other small breakfast items, there a several options made from scratch! Everything came out quickly and the staff was friendly. I ended up getting one of the cream puffs because they looked too good to pass up. They were nice and flaky with a rich, decadent cream. The food options in Dewey can be overwhelming at times, but this place was the perfect balance.

We came here because the Owner’s responses to the bad reviewers(which THEY are the crazy ones)! I am SO glad we did! Great atmosphere & vibes when you enter. My husband had the B5 and I had an everything bagel with cream cheese and bacon and we also got a crumb cake! You can taste the love and passion put into the food! The Vietnamese Cold Brew love it! To the owner, amazing business you have here– we will definitely be back! To the bad reviews– you”re nuts!

If I could give this place a 0/10 I would. First of all, it’s dirty and there was actual debris on the $4 small can of La Croix. To make matters worse, they have actual 10 year old children making the food. To top it all off, the bagel is a disgusting joke. Bread is hard as a rock and they thought it was acceptable to put a piece of velveeta looking microwaved egg on a sandwich. Unacceptable prices and presentation. DO NOT waste your money or time on this dump.

Honestly, pretty awful. Came here with my girlfriend on a Sunday morning for sandwiches and coffee. I ordered a hot mocha and got an iced version that could only be described as chocolate water. Not a taste of milk or coffee in sight. The drinks came with ill-fitting lids that fell off instantly and spilled on us. About 30 seconds later, someone standing behind us realized the same thing when she spilled her iced coffee on us. We didn’t even take our “coffee” with us, they weren’t worth drinking.
Sausage egg and cheese sandwich was tolerable, but not good. Not enough sausage or egg to cover the bagel and the egg has a very jello-like texture after being cooked in the microwave. Beware, the photos on their website are stock photos and not representative of the actual sandwiches.
Cheese danish was the best part, and that was just okay. At least a day old, stale and hard.

Family vacation to Dewey Beach and we walked to get some coffee and pastries. Beautiful walk and area. Great prices for the quality and quantity of food! Great time for all!

We selected the cinnamon rolls, sticky buns, cheese danish and apple fritter. They were all solidly good and obviously homemade—which is not always the case at bakeries. My husband said it was the best cheese danish he ever had in his life. The flavors were a little basic for me but I know that more people will be pleased by that. I like a punch of cinnamon, rather than a pinch. One star less than five because of the so-so flavors and the price. Not sure six pastries and a coffee are worth $40 but I’m not sure it’s not. The coffee incidentally was great—strong and fresh. Also, as you can see from the response below, the owner is cra-zeeeee!!
