Like many folks in Peekskill or migrated from the big city, this deli satisfies my nostalgic bodega craving. It’s a no frills kinda place, and we don’t mind that! We go often, and we’re really happy with the food and service every time.

I am giving this deli 5 stars across the board. I went in there today for lunch and I ordered the Philly cheesesteak. And let me tell you, this sandwich far exceeded my expectations. I am from Philadelphia originally, so my standards on the matter are high. But I have to say, when it comes to their cheesesteak, they are doing EVERYTHING right. From the quality of the meat and how they slice it, to the bread, to the cheese ratio, it truly tasted like home for me. It 100% would be accepted in any bar or restaurant in Philly, and that is saying something. I am convinced that the person in the kitchen is either from philly, or has family in philly haha. Either that or they are just a big foodie because they’ve clearly done their research.
Thank you very much for the delicious lunch today. I will undoubtedly be coming back!

Not sure why people have given this place hate because the coffee is phenomenal. Sometimes you crave a deli coffee but you know it’ll taste, ya know, subpar, but this place serves up an absolutely delicious (and cheap!) cup. Their rolls are fresh and their sandwiches are what you can expect from a deli! It’s conveniently located and the staff is very friendly, and I recommend stopping by for a quick bite.

It really hurts me to post this. But maybe this is needed to help them fix these issues. Asked for a bagel with butter today and I am still looking for the butter. Please fix this and treat your customers better with actual product.

I ordered a bacon egg and cheese, they did not put bacon and I did not know this until I got home. They told me to bring the sandwich back, which I did despite the driving conditions being terrible. The staff were very rude about it and laughed when I asked for a refund. They did not remake the sandwich but rather just slapped bacon on the now cold sandwich.

Terrible management. New manager doesn’t wear gloves when making sandwiches, The short young one with short hair and glasses who was the cashier was great. Loved him.- Though other staff seemed rude. Bacon on sandwich was not cooked, tasted way too oily. Will not be returning. Hope the old manager comes back. This place has seriously gone down hill.

I cant tell you how many times I’ve had issues with this place. For some reason my girlfriend still recommends this place. Well after today, no more. First I ordered a hero and was rudely corrected with “you mean a wedge?” I apologized and said yes, a wedge please. I then look up as I walked away and saw the menu says “hero”. So why the rude correction? It came to 21 and change. I hand her 22, she closes the drawer and said thanks. Didn’t even offer my change. To top off the rude service, we get home and the order was wrong. Pathetic from start to finish. I’m done with this place. Let the school kids waste their money. No adult should go here if they want food.

Been coming here for decades. Sandwiches are awesome, bread is always fresh. Lettuce is always fresh, crisp and never wilted, all the vegetables are fresh. Fast and friendly service too. They also offer a sandwich card so after u buy 10, the next one is free.

The food is really good here, but the new young African American girl is very mean and leaves a bad taste in your mouth. I’ve been there 3 times and every time she gives me an attitude. When I asked how much were the bacon, cheese fries she asked me again what I asked for and I responded bacon cheese fries. She then said with a tone I heard you the first time. After hearing this I expected a sorry or something along those lines and she keeps going with her day. When I went to pay she was there and just keep staring at me like I did something wrong. Please address the situation to her please speak to her or let her off because I’ve spoken to many other costumers and they seem to have the same issue with her.

I don’t usually do reviews on places, but this place became a disaster after the new owner moved in.
Starting off with my wedge that I ordered as I was speaking to the lady what specifically I want she responded with ‘I heard you already’.
As a turkey, ham and cheese with a bag for Lay’s chips and a bottle of water cost $17.25.
When I opened my wedge I was surprised to see that there were only 4 slices of ham and turkey and left out my honey mustard that I requested for. Unlike other dels I been to through New York City Manhattan they loaded the wedges until you can’t bite in to it for about the same price.
Very disappointed here with the new ownership as the old owner Kenny used to loaded up the wedges for his customers.
Used to be a go to but not anyone it is not the same Balisley’s Deli as the past.
