I’ll start my saying our server Heather was absolutely wonderful but the food was terrible, the brisket was served on a wonderbread bun, it was incredibly chewy and filled with fat and the potatoe salad was just a chopped up baked potatoe with bacon bits. Definitely not worth the price.

The food was plain and you can tell the sides are not home made. The “premium” mac and cheese tastes just like a packet of kraft dinner. The baked beans are plain store bought beans. The brisket is not as advertised. For the quality of food this place is extremely over priced and I would not recommend it to anyone. Do NOT come to this place.

Great BBQ! Try the bacon wrapped meatballs.
Pictured is 1/2 rack of ribs, mac and cheese, and warm potato salad. Ribs are delicious but more of a pork chop consistency rather than “fall-off-the-bone”.

Very good experience here! As soon as you step foot in the door to smell the bbq. Menu is decent, and our service was fantastic. Travelled from out of town, fortunately had a reservation as it was pretty busy on a Saturday night. This was our first time visiting but definitely need a couple more trips to try the rest of the menu.

When costing you $36 for lunch for one person without a drink, the minimum you should expect is the food to be at least hot.
On my brisket plate I got cold and hard brisket, crunch coliflower and broccoli, and hard and dry roast barato. It was a very expensive and disappointing lunch.

Amazing BBQ!!!
This was some amazing BBQ! A family run roadhouse right in the heart of Sarnia! This is a spot that’s been here for years and one that I have been meaning to try.
Am I glad I did!!!
I had the the Smokehouse Meat Platter.
It feeds more then two people so make sure you are hungry.
It comes with 1/4 beer can chicken, 1/4 smoked rack of ribs, smoked pulled pork, beef brisket, smoked sausage, 2 smoked wings, and 3 bacon wrapped meatballs.
Choice of two side: I got the Mac and cheese and the potato salad with bacon chunks. Top it off with two cornbread muffins!
My belly was so happy and full.
Thank you to the entire crew at Bains for an awesome experience.
You can dine in, sit on the patio, or get take out. They even do catering for larger events. Give this place a try if you haven’t yet. You won’t regret it.

We did not really know what to expect from a Canadian barbecue place, but it was very good! Great sausage and chicken quarters, maybe the pulled pork and brisket were a tad on the drier side, but the taste was still nice. Also, thumbs up on potato salad and corn muffins.
