Just went to there on the road location in Cabot, Ar. Next to laundry mat. Do let that fool you. We ordered the “Feed 4+” it was Delicious! Actually feed 2 adults and 4 children (4-13)!

We stopped at Baileys last Friday, Sept. 29th for our 2nd visit. We were a bit reluctant to do so as our first visit a couple weeks earlier was so pleasant that we were afraid it might have been a fluke. Not so ! This visit was just as pleasant ! Had the pulled pork BBQ last time and a large cheeseburger and fries this time. The food was just as tasty as the last visit and the young lady that helped us was just as pleasant and friendly.

We usually split one meal as we just can’t eat as much as when we were younger but their portions are large enough that we still get plenty filled up. Same as last time they brought us our order in two separate baskets so we didn’t have to fight over who ate the most french fries, lol. Their french fries are awesome, by the way.

Even if their food was just mediocre, which it is not, we would still go back just because the staff makes eating there so pleasant.

My husband and I ate at Bailey’s during their ‘grand opening’ week in January 2017 and – as such – I want to give this place the benefit of a fair review. It is fantastic that Vilonia now has a BBQ joint – something sorely missing for anyone who lives east of Conway and doesn’t care for Almost Famous (raises hand).

Ambience:
We watched Bailey’s building going up and were really excited to eat there one Saturday. They were moderately busy and we went there around 4PM the first Saturday they were open. A lot of locals seemed to be eating here which is always a nice thing to see.

The interior is – of course – split new. The decor is a bit sparse because of this, but I’m sure that as the place matures they will kit it out with the usual super cute collection of old BBQ joint staples such as soda signs, rusty hardware etc.

Food:
I found the food at Bailey’s to be very…..difficult to review! I really loved some things and disliked others. I ordered the half chicken (they weren’t sure they had any but found some), and my husband had the sliced beef brisket plate. He really liked the brisket, although the piece I tried seemed like it didn’t taste smoked – more oven-roasted. My half chicken, on the other hand, had a fantastic smoked flavor with beautiful dark meat falling off the bone. Unfortunately, there wasn’t much in the way of white meat and the breast seemed to have just…..disappeared. So there wasn’t much eating in it. Their BBQ sauce is excellent – rivals Smokehouse’s in Conway which has always been our favorite. The dinner rolls are abysmal. Very stodgy and not at all what you want to eat with a meal. They would be better off just sticking a couple of Kings Hawaiian on the side. Seriously. Also the lack of Texas toast was a bummer. Their potato salad was OK – not terrible and not amazing. BBQ baked beans were OK but a little sparse on flavor/meat bits to set them apart from what I can get from a can. My husband had their pecan cobbler for dessert and said it was fabulous.

Problems:
I really hate to mark an eatery down for issues that are not directly related to the food – but the points I am going to make here are to a large degree why I did not rate them higher. First off – they really, **REALLY** need to get control of the staff interaction. Several (and I MEAN several) times while we were eating here I heard arguments and exasperated exchanges between the serving staff and the kitchen staff. It was of the “old married couple” variety, too – which made it even more uncomfortable. I felt like I was sitting in a stranger’s house listening to them argue like they always did behind closed doors.

The other issue (and for me, personally, it is a HUGE one) was the flatware and plates………or lack thereof. The plates are polystyrene and the flatware (well, your one fork) is plastic. Just how I am supposed to eat a half chicken with one plastic fork is beyond me…..and if you are a sit-in restaurant (read: NOT a food truck) that charges sit-in prices for dinners, you NEED to give your patrons REAL silverware and REAL plates. I cannot stress how much the lack of these things degrades the overall experience. Please, please, please get some proper eating equipment!

So, all in all, I am hopeful for this new BBQ place, but they definitely need to iron out a few things in the longrun (which isn’t surprising in a newly opened establishment).

Not worth it…! The fish was beyond over cooked, the fries were soggy, and the brisket had absolutely no flavor. The BBQ nachos most definitely wasn’t worth the $10!

Ordered a burger, it’s similar to what Burgers, Pies and Fries serves. The difference is the bun, it’s really firm and doesn’t crush easily like most. I really liked what I got.
