After living in the States for over 30 years, Steven and Amp decided to open a restaurant. They envisioned an environment where they could share delicious, authentic food to families of all sizes and backgrounds. A place where the staff are not only coworkers, but family members as well. We only use the freshest ingredients while offering authentic Thai cuisine and sushi.

I had such a great experience at this restaurant. They are in a great location and has a phenomenal atmosphere. The artwork is very nice and they played really good music! Our server was very nice and attentive. The food arrived at the table in a timely manner & was freshly made and hot. I HIGHLY recommend them for all things Thai. I know I’ll definitely be back!!

Bahn Thai was outstanding from start to finish. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor — the kind of meal where you can tell the ingredients are high quality and the kitchen really cares.
The pad see ew was one of the best I’ve had: wide noodles cooked perfectly with great balance in the sauce, and the veggies and protein tasted clean and fresh (not greasy at all). The stir-fry with broccoli and snow peas was just as impressive — crisp vegetables, rich savory flavor, and generous portions.
Service was fast and the food came out hot and beautifully prepared. If you’re looking for Thai food that feels homemade, fresh, and consistently excellent, Bahn Thai is absolutely worth it. We’ll definitely be back!

Very good flavors and very nice authentic food. We ordered Penang Curry and Drunken noodles. It was very flavorful and spicy. Next time if I am visiting to Charlotte, I will go back for sure.

Love this restaurant. The staff is always pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu items. They’re attentive to ensure your order is correct and tastes good to you. The atmosphere is conducive for meet ups and chatting. The food is always served hot and delicious. Spicy/hot levels vary and optional.

Best Thai curry I’ve had since moving to Charlotte. The Massaman is great if you want something a little more sweet with less spice. The red curry is my favorite at the moment, creamy with a good blend of sweet, spicy and savory. If you are not used to spicy food do not go over a 2 on their spiciness scale. Good place to chill and have a meal, but we usually grab it to go. Everyone there has always been friendly as well. Couldn’t recommend more.

Extremely poor experience at this restaurant. We dined in here on a Saturday evening 02/28. The ambiance and exterior were OK. If you’ve been to a strip mall Asian restaurant, this is 90% that, with the addition of a few booths and tables. Nothing fancy.
Service was fine, with one glaring exception, which I will get to later. We asked to move to a different table before ordering, as the one we were seated at was in a busy area, and they accomodated us, which was nice.
The food was just OK, bordering on mediocre. Anyone who is familiar with authentic Thai cuisine will be very disappointed. You are more likely to get ketchup than tamarind, palm sugar and lemongrass as ingredients. While not the worst Thai food I’ve ever had, it is far from the best Charlotte has to offer. I would not eat here again.
The reason for the low score was, when I asked for the check, our server just brought over the terminal with a total, and did not present us with an itemized receipt, like literally every other dine-in restaurant. This is important. Having worked FOH, I know better than that, and after I paid, I asked for an itemized receipt. I’m glad that I did.
I later discovered that our server entered my wife’s glass of plum wine, as a BOTTLE of plum wine, and overcharged us by about $30. I immediately called the restaurant. The manager did correct it, but this is an egregious error and the exact reason why diners are presented with an itemized bill prior to settling up.
While this may have been an honest mistake, the circumstances surrounding it, rightly or wrongly, give it the appearance of being malicious. For this reason alone, I will not be back, and I recommend that you do not dine here either.

Very good flavors and very nice authentic food. We ordered Tam Yam soup, pad Thai with shrimp, beef with pineapple fried rice, and a roll of sushi (Smoked Salomon). The sushi was the only item that I didn’t care for but the rest of the food was super yummy. Will go back for sure but only for Thai food, not Japanese.

Loved the food. They have lettuce wraps, not carried by everyone. And glad they can make it vegetarian by substituting chicken with tofu. All of their dishes are awesome . We tried Pud Thai, Gaeng Dang (red curry), Pud Prew Wan and were not disappointed by either.

I love the food here. They also offer multiple great lunch specials. We used to get lunch for our team here weekly. Legitimately something for everyone. From hibachi to pad thai, it’s all great. Their hibachi veggies are some of the best I’ve ever had. Definitely get some shrimp sauce with your fried rice, it’s delicious. Not once have I had a bad meal here and their ingredients are always fresh. Staff is friendly too and they’re on it, in the years we have ordered from here, I can probably count on one hand the amount of times an order was made incorrectly. And if that does happen, they remake the meal no questions asked. Will always be a Bahn Thai fan! Also, make sure to sign up for their emails, they sometimes send promo codes for future orders.
