Bahía Mar was AMAZING — one of my favorite meals in Puerto Ayora. The cocktails were delicious, and the shrimp cordon bleu was delicious (I still think about it). The vibe is gorgeous — right on the water, and you can literally watch animals swimming around while you eat. It’s also in a great location on the main street, but because it’s set back a bit it feels secluded in the best way. Loved this place and would absolutely recommend!

Our guide recommended this restaurant so we all went for our final meal and it didn’t disappoint.
We all chose different things and everyone seemed very happy. The wine was nice and fresh too. My risotto was very tasty.
The staff were friendly and the location lovely. Away from the road with a beautiful sea view.

We absolutely loved all dishes we ate at Bahia Mar! We went there 5 times during 7 days. The lunch menu is fenomenal, fish or shrimp in coconut sauce or spaghetti with shrimps were a blast, including very nice dessert for 19 dollars in total (with a drink). And a grilled brujo was the best in town. Located with a seaview, stunning bay panorama and absolutely lovely staff. We will miss Bahia Mar!

We had a great vegetarian lunch with a view. They made an exception from the executive lunch and prepared vegetarian food for us from the full menu. We had the Garbanzo Croquettes, the noodles with mushroom, a mango smoothie, and a Jamaica infusion. All were delicious. They do not have a lot of vegetarian options, but the few dishes the do, were excellent. Also they have a panoramic view of the ocean.

Stopped here because they had a vegan option for lunch. $19.99 for vegan ceviche, a soft drink and a dessert (vegan option was a brownie). The ceviche was amazing! It was the best tasting food we had in Santa Cruz.
The view on the deck was nice. Seeing the boats sway in the waves, the birds flying by, and even saw a sea lion swimming in the distance.
I wish I stopped by here earlier in the week.

Beautiful location right on the water, moonlit sea lions are always great entertainment 🙂
Seafood rice and chicken plate were delicious and so was coconut limeade.

This place deserves 6 stars. It’s one of the only places that have an ocean view. We found it by accident while trying to find some boobies. Not only did we find the boobies, but we stayed for the sunset and then dinner. We had 7 people in our group and every single one was impressed by the meal. The service was attentive and because it was my wife’s birthday they came out and sang happy birthday and gave her a shot and a cake. The grilled scorpion fish was amazing.

This restaurant was so freaking delicious that we ended up eating there for both lunch and dinner! Our server Jose was knowledgeable and gave us amazing recommendations on the food. For lunch I got the shrimp spaghetti and for dinner i got the seafood risotto. My husband and I shared the mixed fish and shrimp ceviche! It was all soooo good. Some of the best meals we had the entire trip.

My friend and I had a terrible time here.
Half the tables were reserved and they received preferential treatment. We were handed menus and told it was happy hour. After waiting for some time (half an hour?) we still hadn’t ordered. We noticed other tables had table water and walk ins behind us were served before us. My friend asked to order. We waited. Still no one came. I asked to order and we finally did after 30 mins of sitting without even a glass of water.
The food and drink were good. If the service was better we would have stayed longer and ordered much more.
When we wanted to pay, we were ignored when trying to get the staff’s attention. When we were finally able to request the bill, it took forever to arrive. They only brought us the bill when we stood up to leave . In total in took around half an hour to pay because we were ignored.
When the bill arrived, the drinks were twice the cost we expected. This was because it took so long between being handed the menus and ordering that we missed happy hour. The waitress corrected this and we left.
Afterward we thought about why we were treated so badly. The only thing we could identify was that we were 2 women under 40. So if you are younger or not in a group, I’d avoid. It’s not worth ruining your night over when there are a dozen similar restaurants nearby. We paid $75 for 2 people.
