I’d seriously come back just for their iced chai!
As far as the food, I loved the mixed kabob plate. The chicken tikka and lamb tikka were excellent. The Iraqi kabob was great too, and tasted like beef and lamb mixed, not just beef. I definitely prefer the mix but the menu does just say beef. The kabobs were seasoned just right and grilled perfectly.
The kabobs came with white rice and a seasoned rice that was more orange. I’ve had much more flavorful rice at other Iraqi restaurants (it’s usually yellow) but I was coming for the meat and didn’t plan to eat all the rice anyway. Not bad at all just not super flavorful.
Their hummus and tzatziki were both good and the little olive and tomato salad went great with the hummus on pita bread. I think they put some mint in the tzatziki which is different but I really liked it. The pita bread is the thin kind not the thick fluffy kind and I’m not sure if that’s normal for Iraqi food but worked fine for me since it’s less filling and probably a lot less carbs but still tasted great.
The Turkish coffee after the meal was nice and strong. Surprisingly the real star of the show was the iced chai. It’s blended not just poured over ice and is honestly the best iced chai I’ve ever had.

I had forgotten my wallet while I was on a short lunch break and the chef had generously provided the chicken shwarma lunch special for free. Even if they hadn’t been so kind, I would have sung their praises to everyone I met but now, I feel its only fair to give a public review.
This place is everything you would ever want out of a good restaurant. The inside is comfortable, spacious, and has a warm energy that makes you want to sit down. The people who run this are extremely hospitable and it even attracts friendly diners. The food? Oh god, the food. The shwarma tastes like it was made with love, the jasmine rice is perfectly cooked, and this might be the first place in all of Colorado I’ve found who has had the good sense to put sumac on hummus.
If you crave something fast, wholesome, and want to support good people, go out of your way to eat here.

Dines in at Baghdad restaurant on a Friday night. Arrived around 7:30 and were seated quickly. The servers were friendly and didn’t rush us to place orders. Ordered lamb kabsa plate and Pompeo fish fry. For the entree, the sides provided themselves could be seen as separate meal. For the price and quality of food, would definitely recommend Baghdad

Best shawarma ever. This is my second time coming here, and hands down to the chef. The beef for shawarma has the correct spice mix; you can definitely tell it’s been marinating correctly, and the right amount of fat has been added to the stick while cooking on the shawarma stand. For a person like me who has very spoiled taste buds, it passes my test for shawarma. Thank you, Bassam!

My go-to restaurant in Denver! They have delicious food, great prices, generous portions, and wonderful service.
I always order their lentil soup and mixed shawarma plate, which comes with a little appetizer plate that has salads and a yummy hummus. Also the baklava place next door is an excellent dessert spot!

Had Gyro plate and Baghdad burger here for Dinner, Baghdad burger was really nice. Pita was not fresh and cold, felt like rice didn’t had lots of flavor and rice were very dry.

We loved the food. We had the food from the lunch special menu. It was delicious. Service was great. Food could have been a bit warmer specially the meat. It was a bit cold. But still I would recommend it. The hosts were friendly and quick too. We will go back to this restaurant again.
