I have not enjoyed breakfast at Bagel Time Cafe in Margate in more than 1 year due to a heavy travel schedule. When I invited my daughter to join me, we were delighted with the quality plus the generous amount of of food at a very fair price.
I was quite surprised at the small amount of customers at 9:30 a.m. A few more trickled in during our meal.
My breakfast was a 3 egg “Western Omelette” with a side of perfectly (and not overcooked) home fried potatoes and a toasted “Everything Bagel” with cream cheese for about $10.69. Unlimited coffee was a few dollars more.
– My daughter ordered scrambled eggs with bacon, tomatoes and a toasted sesame bagel.
– Our server was attentive and kept returning to make sure that our coffee cups were full and if we needed anything else.
– A Western Omelette at other nearby restaurants would cost about $13 to $15, so I felt the pricing at Bagel Time in Margate, Florida northwest of Pompano Beach was very fair and competitive!
– I highly recommend visiting this excellent Bagel Restaurant for breakfast or lunch, especially if you live in the Margate, Coconut Creek or Coral Springs, Florida area or are visiting north Central Broward County.

Really loved this place! Bagel Time & Bakery Cafe in Margate is super cozy and clean, and the food is just delicious. You can tell they use great quality ingredients. The staff is super friendly and make you feel right at home. Perfect spot to grab a tasty bagel, a fresh pastry, or a good cup of coffee. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Trying to support small businesses and sometimes there’s a reason for some of them being small and its because they just aren’t that good. I had eaten here once about a year ago (got a platter with eggs and bacon) and thought it was just ok average at best.. decided to try and give them another shot and ordered a couple of bagel sandwhiches online this time because it does have bagel in the name.. well I place my order and walk in at the designated pick up time only for the women at the register telling me she doesn’t have any online orders and I should check on my end to make sure im at the right place.. I thought it was a joke and I show her confirmation on my end and the pick up time and that my card was indeed charged from their business.. I see her go to the back to talk with the owner who is shaking her head and comes up to verify that I actually ordered from them.. so for a second time I show them my confirmation and she proceeds to try and say maybe they didn’t get it on their end?? how is my card charged and a confirmation given? then she sees the mistake, the receipt was right on the counter in front of Camela the girl at the register, it appears she just disregarded it when it came through and didn’t take it to the kitchen.. so the owner Lucia says I can make your order soon, seeing that im visibly frustrated I ask how long will that take? she says atleast 20 mins there are other orders here she has to take care of, which i rebuttal absolutely not how did I place my order over 20 mins ago and have to wait another 20 mins because of the incompetence of your employee at the register?? instead of being apologetic and trying to rectify the situation she mutters “well if you dont have the patience to wait we cant help you”.. I said no I had the patience when I waited over 25 minutes for my order that your incompetent employee didn’t relay to the kitchen.. told her to refund my check immediately and will never return to this below average hole in the wall.. thats what I get for trying to support small businesses and still get the same terrible service as a chain and the food is mediocore at best.. never again

Let’s talk about lack of customer service or integrity.
Placed an online order, waited for my pick up time to walk in and was advised by “Camela” that the order wasn’t placed and it needed to be called in. I corrected her and advised that I was given a conf # AND my card was charged meaning their online system had no problem processing the order. She went to speak with “Lucia” who later found my receipt (for the order “that wasn’t placed”) sitting on the counter and told me I would have to wait because other orders are ahead; meanwhile it’s passed my pick up time. “Lucia” stated if I don’t have the patience to wait; while I wasted over 30 min waiting and arguing with them. Had she taken a more professional approach, I would have had no problem waiting but since they don’t want to admit their fault and screwup, she chose to deflect.
I asked for a refund and will take my business elsewhere and advise you do too, unless you want to make America great by supporting the incompetence.

I’m deeply disappointed with the direction this place has taken. Growing up, Bagel Time was a warm, family-friendly spot I cherished. Now, after returning from college, it feels unrecognizable—cold, modernized, and lacking the charm it once had.
The food quality has significantly declined, portion sizes have shrunk, and the prices are unreasonably high. What used to feed a family of four for $20 now barely feeds two. The new management has completely lost touch with what made this place special.
The only bright spot of my visit was our waitress, Carol, who provided excellent service despite everything else. At this rate, I wouldn’t be surprised if this place goes out of business. There is a reason why on Google maps it says “less busy than usual“.

I’ve been coming to Bagel Time for almost 15 years, and I’ve always loved it. But since the new owner took over, things have really changed, and not for the better.
The lady at the register was unfriendly, and the place felt dull and uninviting. The menus looked cheap, the food was overpriced, and the plates were bare. It’s just not the same anymore.
I hope the new owner can fix these issues because I used to really enjoy coming here.
McDonald’s is right down the street with better service and food.

Writing my review as I wait in real time .got here at 10:39 Front counter service is not so well , arguments on who is going to service us, nagging between each other , after 15 minutes I’m not sure if the order really went through, it’s 11:05 the front counter is a ghost town , at this point my son is asking for a danish because the food is taking so line to come out. 11:07 food came out .. let’s see if the waiting was worth it . The plates look dingy and brown. I asked for a salami with lettuce , tomato, cheese, they missed on the lettuce and cheese, at this point it’s what it is . The potato’s cold .

The few people who work there are super nice, however… There is not enough of them. There was only 1 waitress working to help all the customers. Another did not arrive until much later. There was a long wait for the food, and what we received got cold when it arrived.
The management or owners need to get more help for the few waitresses there.

BEWARE. Believe the bad reviews. You can see how disrespectful the owner is when they reply to reviews, this is EXACTLY how they act in the place. The food is fast food quality and cheap. From my research most of the 4-5 star reviews are when the previous owners were owning the place. The food is horrible, the service is worse, and the owner is the meanest person I have ever met. There was mold on my pastry and she screamed at me for being it to her attention. I order eggs and a plain bagel. When I received my order it looked like they took half of one egg and put it on my bagel. Bagel wanted even toasted. The prices are way too high, the service is trash, and the food is gross.
