Really awesome bagels! Typical bagel shop / deli fare. I like the variety of bagels – they have everything, egg everything and a whole wheat everything! Their multi-grain and french toast bagels are awesome too. Great food. Cooks prepare the food correctly. The staff are very friendly, it shows when they are rushed or stressed, but otherwise they are welcoming and thank us for coming in. It looks like some reviewers have complained about the staff, but the staff always welcome us when we walk in the door, they are kind, friendly and joke around with us. You cant ask for better! The coffee is great! Tasty and fresh, I love some of the flavored beans, but they don’t always have every flavor available. Chicken salad and tuna salad and other lunch options are also very tasty.

Not sure what the other reviewers are on about. Very friendly and quick service. Really tasty bagels! The everything bagel had the perfect amount of seasoning. I got the lox bagel with veggie cream cheese and it was life changing. Definitely will be a go to spot if I’m in the area.

I love this place, it’s a classic NJ bagel spot. Today I got the chorizo omelette special and it even came with extra crispy hash browns and toasted buttered bread.

I got a french toast bagel with cream cheese. Bagel was perfect (crispy on the outside fluffy on the inside) and excellent service. The lady at the counter was super nice and welcoming. My coworkers were also very satisfied with their bacon egg and cheese on croissants. Definitely will go back again!

It’s Sunday at 8:00 a.m. and I was told there was only one everything bagel for sale. This is a store that sells bagels and sandwiches yet they have very few bagels for sale. The counter person told me if I wanted a sandwich they had more everything bagels. This has happened to me numerous times before where they would limit me on the number of bagels I wanted Why do I keep going back. One word stupidity.
The lady that runs this establishment has no business sense and has no personality. She almost runs it like the soup kitchen on the Seinfeld show.
At one time this was our weekly meeting place on Sunday mornings and we have now changed to the bagel store in Bound Brook by the ShopRite.
I almost asked myself why there are no customers then I answered the question myself because of the way the lady runs the shop.
It is so poorly run that in order to get a coffee you have to pay for it and the lady at the counter has to give you the cup.
So sad she can’t run a business… let’s be honest if you’re able to get a bagel it’s not bad but it’s not worth the hassle of dealing with this person

They are the most rude and nasty. I think she’s the owner and/or cashier. They do not take criticism well and will tell you not to come back. We are fine with not going back. Kettleman’s on Elizabeth Ave IN SOMERSET is 10 times better. We’d rather go there. The food and the service are better. I don’t have to pay Bagel Market & Deli to be nasty to me or charge me extra for butter or yell at me. They know nothing about customer service or how to run a deli.

I see ALOT of us are in the reviews saying the same thing. The owner/cashier is the absolute worst and will be the reason they go out of business. I had a few bagel spots in mind, looked at their menus and I choose this place because their veggie sandwich’s come with a side salad and chips (according to the site). I get there and grab my food, on the way out I ask if I can have a sauce for my sandwich— she says it’s an extra charge. She tells me to come back to the counter so she can show me that the sandwich has sauce inside.. I’m like what sauce would that be, because I didn’t ask for sauce ? So I’m like whatever, no biggie— I take the sandwich and go to the car. When I checked the bag I noticed the side salad was missing. I go back and ask for the salad and she tried to charge me. I told her what it said on the site and she insisted I had the wrong business. Once I verified the address and pulled up their website where this info is listed she started giggling and saying that was from 20 years ago… so I’m like ok? That’s not my fault you haven’t updated your site! This is literally what I used to make my decision of coming here! So we going back and forth on why I should get this salad and she isn’t budging!! Despite the fact it says this on the site. I told her to take the sandwich back and give me my money back. Her husband jumps in saying “why you can’t just take the sandwich, we already made it— now we have to waste it” I’m like sir ? This is customer service 101! You don’t HAVE to waste anything If you use your heads! I’m asking for LETTUCE here, one of the cheapest things you can buy as a restaurant owner! If they were smart they would’ve just given me my salad, and let me know for next time the menu will be updated. I would’ve understood and appreciated the exception just for today and would’ve known for next time. Now you lost a full sale, money/time wasted on the sandwich you made, lost another frequent customer and have yet another horrible review. The husband made sure to tell me never to come back too, I’m sure that’s why they are always empty they run everyone out of there! I will never step foot in that establishment again. The food is bland anyway. When you are this cheap as a business owner, I would use caution buying from places like this. I see ppl saying the charging for butter!? They cut corners in the most unsanitary ways we probably have no clue about. Don’t waste your money

This is the best bagel and breakfast place around. I grew up in NY and have tried many bagel places, this is the best. Plus, their omelets, French toast and tuna fish are by far the best around. Their prices are also extremely reasonable, especially for bagels and sandwiches. It’s run by a hard working South Korean couple who take great pride in their business and serving the customer. Sometimes they are hurried as it’s tough to find reliable workers but they do their very best. We are happy to drive 20 minutes several times a week to sit down and enjoy a nice, friendly meal.
