I truly wanted to support this business. As a Latina who has lived in this neighborhood for many years, I was genuinely excited to try their food and support a local establishment.
Unfortunately, my experiences have been disappointing. On a previous visit, I was double charged for a meal. When I brought it to their attention, I was met with a dismissive “sorry, we can’t help you with that” response, and the issue was never resolved.
Today, I returned hoping for a better experience, but again was disappointed. We stood waiting to be attended to for about 10 minutes with no acknowledgment. I could see a young staff member in the kitchen who looked over at us multiple times but never came out to assist. We were the only customers there at the time.
After two unpleasant experiences, I can’t recommend this place. I would suggest visiting YumYum Cafe down the street instead. They offer fabulous service and good food.
Very disappointed.

We came for Taco Tuesday and was pleasantly surprised by coming here. Filled with colors and menu varieties, Taco Tuesday was just the beginning of choices we had for the night.
Dined in, food was fresh, staff was friendly. El Primo Bagel and Tacqueria wasn’t busy for a Tuesday, I think the establishment is still fairly recent on opening. Plenty of seating inside. I had a tasty Chicken quesadilla.
Park along the side streets in Cliffside Park, or park further and walk here. All payments accepted. There are some deals displayed on the windows – check it out when yiu can!

We recently dined at El Primo Bage & Taqueria and had a fantastic experience. We ordered the Philly Cheeseburger with fries, and it did not disappoint. The portions were generous, and the flavors were spot on. The fries were crispy and perfectly seasoned. On top of that, the prices were very reasonable, making it a great value for the quality and quantity of food. We highly recommend El Primo Bage & Taqueria for anyone looking for delicious Mexican American cuisine!

They will selectively understand you based on what you are asking them (e.g., why there was something in the food that I specifically asked not to be included). Overall vibe is ok but don’t expect them to actually listen to you when you order your food [only about 35-40% of what you are saying actually gets received]. You can order something and they will bring you something different, then make you the issue for wanting them to fix it. I paid the price of the food plus tax (can’t forget the tax). When I handed them back after eating 0% of the food, I only got the base price back. When I asked for the full amount that I paid, the restaurant suddenly lost their ability to understand what I was saying.

Love the food here. Tacos are really great. Breakfast Burritos are awesome too. More over, all the fries are so fresh and crispy!!

Passed by the store and saw their sign that said “$27.99 for 15 tacos”. Wanting to eat here and try out the restaurant, we walked here and were glad we did. We ordered the Taquiza Mixta, which was a mixed platter of tacos. We were able to choose from 3 tacos at the time. I think they were out of chorizo and 1 other, which I don’t remember.
Anyways, we ordered 10 chicken, 3 beef, and 2 al pastor. Wow! It was a meal for 3-4 people. We knew it would be a lot and planned to take the leftovers home. Came out fresh and accompanied by a side of rice and black beans.
Tacos were great. Meats were seasoned nicely and had generous portions in each taco.
We will return. Nice to find another good restaurant in the neighborhood.

I honestly don’t understand how this place doesn’t have better reviews—every time I come here or order from them, the food is always fresh and delicious, and the service is consistently warm and attentive. This restaurant has quickly become one of my favourites!
As someone who has been to Mexico many times and has tried countless Mexican restaurants, I can confidently say this spot offers truly authentic flavours with a lovely local charm. From the classics to creative options, the menu is full of variety, and even picky eaters (including kids!) will find something they enjoy. Whether you’re dining in or taking out, the quality is top-tier.
I especially appreciate how family-friendly and welcoming the atmosphere is. The staff genuinely care and it shows—they make you feel right at home. It’s refreshing to have a locally owned Mexican restaurant that’s both consistent and full of heart.
To the owners and team: I wish you continued success and prosperity. You deserve it. Thank you for bringing such flavour and warmth to the community!

We love the variety on their menu. From breakfast sandwiches to tacos and sides, we’ve tried a few plates and frequently order favorites. Every dish is done right — very flavorful, fresh, hot and served neatly. I hope they continue to serve our neighborhood. We order takeout or fast delivery more often now than hitting up a diner or taco spot.

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. The service is terrible. I ordered a steak platter and tacos. The server couldn’t understand me (she didn’t understand me pointing to the exact menu item either I guess) and added a burrito that I never ordered. When I noticed the charge on my card was unusually high for the amount (which was immediately), she tried to tell me I ordered wrong (I pointed to the exact items on the paper menu by the register) and refused to refund me for the burrito SHE added on. I literally just tapped my card and was told, “I already charged your card, there’s nothing I can do. Your only option is to take the extra item”. Disgusting service, purposely overcharged me for something I never ordered, and refused to give me my money back, even though they didn’t even begin to cook the food yet. I also had to wait over 30 minutes for my two items + the bonus burrito I was forced to pay for, although there were only 2 other customers (who were already finished with their meals). On top of the terrible service and the overcharge, the food was bland. If you’re going to overcharge someone for an item and refuse to refund them, at least the food could taste good. There are so many incredible local businesses in the neighborhood to support and choose from. I hope they’re happy with the $13 extra they got from me, but because of the horrible service, I won’t be back.

Ordered for delivery and the shuco de carne was probably one of the best tasting sandwiches I’ve had in a long time!
