Tonight we visited the recently opened Bad Dad’s. I usually like to wait 4-6 weeks after a new place has opened before trying, to give them time to work out the kinks., but curiosity got the better of me. The location on N 8th St is easy to get to and there is plenty of parking around the corner on N E St. We were greeted as soon as we walked in, which is a big, big plus in my book. We were able to choose our own seat in the comfortable but tight interior.
The beer list is cute, with funny names for each brew, indicating different kinds of “dads”. I chose the Dude Abides brew which I actually liked. Normally, I’m not a fan of IPA. We ordered a salad to share and it was enormous., plenty for 4 people. I can’t say enough good things about the salad. Fresh, crisp greens, red onion, cucumber and feta cheese, topped with a delicious vinaigrette, made this salad exceptional. Clearly, it was not made with bagged lettuce you so often get.
The pizza was light and crisp, with pretty sparse toppings considering the $21 it cost. It was delicious, but small for the hefty price. We also ordered tiramisu, which was unlike any I’ve ever had before. It was pretty to look at but lacked the flavor we expected. I’d pass on that.
The service was fantastic and we will definitely be back.

Good food and good beer. That’s all you need to know. This is a new and decidedly hip location with pizza that is two steps above standard delivery with high quality ingredients and a thin, chewy crust that is the perfect platform for the upper crust toppings (pun intended.) The atmosphere is lively, but you can easily talk and the beers are well suited to the restaurant name. Great for dinner or just drinks after work.

Back for our 2nd visit. The “bad dad” theme is cute of you like that stuff (and we do). The beer names, the glasses, we even won koozies that look like a dad’s underpants! See pics. I tried the Mexican lager, Pontoon Patrol and my husband had the amber ale called Stud Finder. Both were good. We ordered the New Yorker pizza and waited a bit for it. Seemed like it was an extended wait to waitress as well. It was a nice size for 2 – not too big. The crust was perfect. Chewy inside and crisp outside. Sauce is not too sweet. Loved the yellow peppers instead of standard green. We ate it all & almost forgot to take a pic so it’s half gone in my picture! We will definitely be back.

What an amazing place!

The bruschetta and the pizzas were insanely good, and the whole place was super clean, even the bathrooms. But what truly won us over was the service. My husband and I are truckers, and we came all the way from Virginia. We hadn’t eaten anything all day, and we got to the restaurant about 30 minutes before closing, yet they still treated us with so much kindness. After a long day of work, all you want is to go home, but they made us feel like the time didn’t matter at all.

Every single person made us feel welcome, from our server to the chef.

Thank you so much for taking such good care of us and serving with love. You all are what make this restaurant truly special.

From two pizza lovers: 1000/10! ❤️

Decided to head and richmond and check out this new restaurant.
Teri was my waitress and she was amazing , VERY SIMPLE MENU
(EASY TO MAKE A CHOICE )
I asked if they offered a flight to taste all the different craft beer they did not offer this
(which is different considering all local ipa’s)
Teri asked me to pick a few and she would get samples , (amazing service )
I ordered the Detroit pizza .
Upon first look I was thinking to myself hmm.
I just paid $18 for a pizza the size of a little ceasers deep dish.
Oh well maybe it will be good ,
if it’s good I’d pay $25 .
The flavors went together very well and it was cooked great , but there was an issue and this unfortunately cost this restaurant the stars I would have loved to give .
(If I ordered cheesy bread)
FORGOT THE TOMATO SAUCE …..
Detroit pizza has sause underneath the cheese , NOT A FEW DRIPS on the top.
However the atmosphere was good and the rest rooms were very clean
I will write another review when I stop in and try again .
Shout out to Teri , if you have the pleasure of having her be your waitress she will not disappoint

Friendly, good service and nice atmosphere. Love the fresh ingredients. The salad will feed 4-6 people and definitely recommend. However, the pizza is really good but guys definitely need to step it up on toppings. We had build your own, onions, peppers and garlic with white sauce. The taste is great but literally I could count the amount of toppings on one hand. This will detour people from coming. I will definitely come back and try other pizzas but please use a few more toppings. The cost is worth the fresh ingredients. The beer is great. The tiramsu was a bit dry. Overall I am happy to have this restaurant and will come back.

Bethany, the bar manager, is incredible. She makes Bad Dads feel like home. She is attentive, mixes the best cocktails, remembers your name, and is the most empathetic and skillful bartender. We sit at the bar every time just to interact with her! All the employees are awesome. The atmosphere is relaxed but also perfect for a nice date night. Don’t miss out on ordering a Woodford Old Fashion; it’s the cherry on top.

Maya was a great server! All the staff have been friendly and conversational.
We have now gone 3 times.
The Bushwick Red Pie and Yo, Paulie White Pie were delicious. Perfectly cooked with a crispy yet chewy crust. We love the hot honey on the pizza, too! (Also great for dipping the crust)
Tonight was the first time we also got the Fougase Bread. The herb salt was so yum. The tomatoes sauce is served cold, which I don’t prefer, but everyone else enjoyed it that way. We have also gotten the Brushetta, which we enjoyed.

My husband is an IPA guy and had a positive response to their beers. He’s gotten the Pull My Finger each time. I usually get a sour or tart, but liked the Tapestry of Obscenity!

Moving a Neapolitan pizza place into Wayne county Indiana is a bold move. This is the change Richmond Indiana needs. For too long this place has shunned new things and clung to their sacred cow of chain pizza. This place clearly is run by people who have a passion for food and beer and want to share that with as many people as possible. They do an outstanding job of making the food shine through in every bite while maintaining a very high level of customer service. Cool building with cooler people in it. Come down and try what started the pizza revolution hundreds of years ago in Italy and continues to evolve into a pie as good as you can get in Italy but in sleepy old Richmond Indiana.
